About Him
---------------

Alberto Martínez (known mononymously as Alberto) is a singer, songwriter, musician, bedroom producer, software developer and data engineer, born & raised in Mexico, currently based in Denmark. Son of a retired former Radio DJ of a local multimedia company in his home city, Monterrey (MX), and of a housewife former banker cashier.

He makes pop songs in English and Spanish, in words of himself he describes his music as “the over confident Mexican version of Kanye West meets Ed Sheeran type of songs”. Up until now he performs live acoustically with his traveling guitar, loop pedal and his vocals.

He started his solo music career in 2008 by playing live at a music contest at his University School in 9th semester before he graduated in which he got the 3rd place. He’s a Computer Science (with a specialisation in Systems) undergraduate from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics (of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon). He’s been working in the Tech Industry for over 14 years as a full-time Software Developer and Data Engineer. Combining his professional IT career, he manages to work on his music on his spare time by writing songs, produce them in his home studio and play them live by booking gigs himself. He also studied songwriting at "The Songwriting Academy" online, which led him to produce, engineer and master his own tracks.

On 2016 he met a woman from Denmark, and thanks to her he was introduced to the Danish culture and society. She invited him to move to Denmark to try and make a living there, he traveled twice with a tourist permit, and applied to as many jobs as he could (nearly a hundred), therefore on the second travel there, he got a contract to work for a music streaming startup as an IT Consultant. Ever since then he focused his efforts on writing mostly in English to reach a wider audience attention.

Alberto has played live around 100 times in between late 2016, and the first half of 2020 (digitally during the worldwide pandemic), 150 times in total since the early beginnings of the project. With his enormous passion and dedication he's trying his best to get his music out there and connect with people through it.
