Italian melody makers Modular Project reveal their debut EP, a nature-dubbed and organic five track effort merging tech house and electronica.

The endeavor kicks off with the nostalgy laden yet upbeat “Leaf”, whose steady bassline gives leeway to a dreamy developing, synth lined harmony. Aptly entitled “Into The Woods”, the second track goes into deep territory via distorted synths, a wave-reminiscent element that remains its central focus til the very last sequence. The woodlandish journey fully unfolds at the third track, a contrastingly darker cut, filled with modular piano bits completed by arpeggiated synths. The title track gets a dubby makeover from Permanent Vacation’s Benjamin Fröhlich who plays upon the nostalgic synth line, turning it into a peak time drama by adding squirmish crowd vocals. Konvex and The Shadow take on a less dramatic, but equally serious approach, stripping off some synths but adding oscillating bleeps and lower pitched drums for extra gravitas.

Along with the title "Zeitgeist“, a new compilation series is introduced that kidnaps us periodically and takes us to the world of electronic music fantasies. Endless nights and timeless days characterize the musical style of an entire party generation.

As well as on connected earlier in the year, he has released on Moon Harbour and Mobilee and transcends fashions and scenes with his music.Opening up the account is ‘Lifting Me’, a dark and menacing house cut with elastic bass and lumpy drums bringing an off-kilter groove. An exquisite female vocal is filtered and looped to bring a painful sense of soul that really finishes the track in style.The equally unusual yet compelling ‘Calisi’ is a mix of thunderous synths and gentle piano notes that build the suspense to the point of rapture before the drums carry you away on an intriguing groove.Lastly, the excellent ‘Wooden’ is a perfectly loose, jumbled groove with cosmic synths panning about the track. It’s dynamic and restless and brings a unique sense of energy to the club.All in all these are three brilliantly inventive new tracks that will inject any set with real house freshness
