From soulful vocal drenched songs such as 'Turn Back To You' featuring house hero Robert Owens play through, we start to really get a grounded feel to what this album is about, 'Two guys making music for the right reasons'. Dark and edgy songs like 'White Rose' & 'Overshadowed' seem to complete this technically polished album and whatever you like about house music, you'll find something here for your taste. An incredible electronic body of work which tells an emotional story, of both Atjazz & Jullian Gomes' lengthy journey through this musical jungle.

On Monday November 9th 2013 we are rolling out a competition for budding producers/directors to design and producer a wonderful visual to accompany 'White Rose' from the acclaimed album from Atjazz & Jullian Gomes 'The Gift The Curse' We are looking for an artistic music video to fit the sonics of the song and to tell a story of 'Jazz meets Tencho'. A little abstract project to show off your skills and as music evolves, ideas also grow and morph. Be open minded, creative and free.

From the entries we will pick 3 winners and what you get in return for your winning entry will be:

• 1 Month of promotion for your Youtube, Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook page or chosen webpages.

If there was ever a waited-on collaboration in the African Electronic Music sphere it’s this one.  In the one corner we have Kaysha, the Kinshasa-born Zouk titan who relocated to France and eventually to Portugal where he is based. In the other sits Boddhi Satva whose storied upbringing also took him from Central Africa to his adult life in Europe. Both share a unique worldly outlook that affords them a unique profile of supporters between them from places as far afield as the Middle East to the Caribbean.

Both producers have circled each other in the many years spent cultivating a musical relationship.

And now that the time is right, the two reward their fan bases’ collective anticipation on Boddhi’s new album Transition with the song Mama Kossa. It’s a truly special occasion that warrants another first: Kaysha takes to the booth singing in his native tongue Lingala – something he has never done before.

From early in his career Kaysha learned how to seamlessly switch from genre to genre so conveying the ancestral message to a whole new audience will be effortless. A little closer to home, Martin Atjazz jumps on board to contribute a remix to Mama Kossa sure to delight fans of the luminary House DJ/producer, and of good music across the board.

Whether working as Shigeru Tanabu or monikers such as Manaboo (Alongside Moeller) and AZZXSSS itʼs apparent that Tanabu is highly trained in the fundamentals of production as a whole, whether the focal genre be House, Disco, Dubstep or Jazz the results cut through, earning support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Ed Davenport and Shur-I-Kan.

Atjazz steps up on remix duties for the ʻEl Contraste EP (Feat Akane Del Mar)ʼ providing both an instrumental and vocal version. As the remix name suggests ʻAtjazz Love Soul Remixʼ is exactly that - dripping with soul and warmth. The organic piano and slap bass encompass the melodic intricacies Atjazz has become known for. The percussion much like the rest of the elements give off a live feel with soft brush cymbal hits and loose toms rolling in a bossa-nova style.

Shigeruʼs original mix of ʻEl Contraste feat Akane Del Marʼ veers into laid-back ambient territory. Sumptuous pads and clinking metallic percussion flutter alongside the airy Latin vocal and spoken word resulting in a clean production full of character from well recorded vocals and a well balanced choice of sounds.

DOMINIQUE FILS-AIMÉ is a singer-songwriter hailing from Montreal, Canada. Her musical inspiration draws from soul icons of the 40’s and 60’s the likes of Billie Holiday, Etta James and Nina Simone. 

DOMINIQUE’S sophomore album STAY TUNED! was released in February 2019 and brings to center stage the resiliency of mankind in the face of adversity and oppression and pays homage to Afro-American history and culture.
