I don't know what this song is. A homage? A parody? A song about Bob getting older/younger? It mentions Kerouac - perhaps it should've been about him. It has a strange chronology, but I got almost drunk doing umpteen takes because I kept changing the lyrics. Until in a sober moment I decided I'd had enough of it,  or it had had enough of me, and wanted to nail it down. It still won't rest. Next time I'll use screws.

DIRT ROAD

First of a series of three narrative songs about rock'n'roll people who hang out in Rosco's Diner, which exists in a late 50s/early 60s bubble. This one's a homage to Johnny & The Hurricanes. Would've been nice to play the music with a saxophone et al, but there you go. I've left a bum last note in because I'm going slightly deaf (I think).
