It's come to that time of the year again, well a bit later, but you know what they say... Time to unleash the beast once more yet a different one it is. Still following the same thread: moving forwards whilst looking backwards, continuing the explorations and the excavations to and from Knowhere. Unexpected blends and mash-ups which will hopefully give birth to new ideas for some, inspirations for others. Well, they have for us as we can now turn this page and move on... As you might've guessed by now, this message can be seen as an announcement: a new episode, airing soon on Good Morning Tapes. So, keep your eyes peeled and enjoy what you have whilst it is still here, who knows what will happen next!

Yamaha DX 9 pads processed through MPC 1000 filter bank. MS-20 mini bass lines. Malekko Manther arp's and leads. Vermona DRM1 MKiii percussion. All instruments summed through Mackie DFX12 with analog and digital delays plus plus reverb.

This week on Line Noise I spoke to Thorsten Quaeschning, the musical director (and longest-standing member) of foundational German band Tangerine Dream, a group whose influence looms over ambient and electronic music. We spoke about black metal, where to start with Tangerine Dream, founder member Edgar Froese’s plans for the band after his death in 2015 and how the current band (in which Quaeschning is joined by Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick) are carrying these out. Line Noise 209 - Tangerine Dream

First Mix

Roland JX-3P, Yamaha DX9, Malekko Manther, and Vermona DRM1 MKIII sequenced and played via Keystep Pro midi controller all running through a very scratchy Mackie CR1604 mixer with Boss DD-7, EHX Cathedral Reverb, and TC June 60 Chorus in the FX loops. Recorded live to two tracks in Ableton where I trimmed the fat and added compression (ham-fisted, clumsily).

it's been awhile since i've shared any new music. now with a proper home studio space i've found more inspiration. 

as usual this was recorded live in one take using an old casiotone mt-68, a few pedals and my mackie-dfx 12 mixer. one hand on the chords; one hand on the knobs.
