Finnish duo Terminé announce the release of their unique genre-blending debut 5-track EP, ‘Sideways’, set to drop on 18th December on Finnish label, Youth Control.

The project is the brainchild of the prolific Anton Sonin, accepted as one of Finland’s most established DJ/producers - having had releases with the likes of Anjunabeats, Spinnin’ Records and Universal Music - and sensational singer/songwriter Ben Andreas. Together the pair has created an EP that sits at the intersection of indie-rock and dance music, self-described as “new-wave indie-rock meets the infamous Panorama Bar at Berghain…influenced by the moody and epic atmosphere of french indie music, combined with 4/4 beats of kinda early-morning afterhours somewhere in East Berlin”.

Spätestens seit dem Erscheinen ihres ersten Albums „This Should Work“ ist die Wiener Band DAWA nicht mehr nur ein Geheimtipp unter FreundInnen handgemachter und ehrlicher Singer/Songwriter-Musik, sondern galt als einer der Neuentdeckungen des Jahres 2013. Zwei Stimmen, eine Gitarre, ein Cajon und Cello und vorallem die Menschen dahinter, ergeben ein so perfektes Bild, das man gar nicht glauben will, dass bei der Zusammensetzung nur der Zufall Regie geführt hat. Noch erstaunlicher ist, dass Oama Richson erst seit August den vorherigen Perkussionisten Norbert Kröll ersetzt hat und sich das Bild zwar verändert, aber nichts an Harmonie eingebüßt hat.

DAWA gehen mit ihrem neuen Album "(r) e a c h" neue Wege und bleiben sich dennoch treu: Der unverkennbare DAWA-Sound mit den aussergewöhnlichen Stimmen von John Michael Dawa und Barbara Wiesinger sowie dem Cello von Laura Pudelek ist geblieben. Oama Richson hat sich diesmal nicht "nur" ans Cajon gesetzt, nein, er hat um einige Drumset-Teile aufgestockt. Des Weiteren holt Pudelek noch den E-Bass mit ins Boot.
Somit klingen DAWA noch voller, noch kompletter - behalten aber dennoch die Intimität der letzten beiden Alben.

Atmosphärisch hat sich ein Umstand unleugbar auf das Album ausgewirkt: John Dawa ist vergangenes Jahr Vater ("Emma") geworden und so wirkt das Album ruhiger und gesetzter als dessen Vorgänger.

Als Produzent konnte wieder Patrick Pulsinger gewonnen werden, der dem Sound den letzten Schliff verliehen hat. Was die Aufnahmetechnik betrifft hat man, erneut mit Hilfe von Oliver Brunbauer, noch detailgetreuer gearbeitet: Zuerst wurden alle Tracks "live" eingespielt, um die typische Dynamik und Atmosphäre von DAWA einzufangen. Danach wurden alle Spuren nochmals eingespielt - in Kombination entstand so der perfekte Sound.

"Open Up" versprüht als Vorbote und erste Sinlge Samba-Summer-Feeling und läßt - eher untypisch für DAWA - die Tanzbeine zappeln.
