Dr. Apollo is no stranger to the RAM Records family; he’s a name which has frequented its colossal compilation series as well as the major RAMLive streams which took place throughout the first lockdown. Cementing himself amongst his counterparts, he now falls under the RAM umbrella once again although this time it’s for an extensive body of work, joining the imprint’s sister-label ProgRAM for his debut LP ‘The Simulation’ and standing as the only American to have an album on the imprint.

Consisting of nine brand new tracks, the LA native pulls together an introspective insight into himself as a producer. It provides an epitomic introduction to Dr. Apollo, highlighting his influences as well as showing his knowledge of drum & bass, something which becomes clear after its very first track ‘Holy Grail’. Between its breaks, and the uplifting positioning of records like ‘Glowing in the Dark’ and ‘Pray for Love’ featuring Bzrkr, ‘In Colour’ alongside FINNI and the cool tones of ‘Brooklyn’, it’s already jam packed with a versatility which shines through with every cut. Meanwhile the laid-back notes of ‘Gold’, the zig zagging bass layers of ‘Operation Prosecco’, old-school inspirations behind ‘Mo90s’ and ‘Waves’ once more with Bzrkr, merges together an impressive selection.

Dr. Apollo flies the flag for US drum & bass, and this is a marker of what’s to come from him as his journey progresses. With more set on the horizon, he’s beginning to stake his claim within the genre, and he does this whilst paying homage to its roots. Something which is clear throughout ‘The Simulation’ album. So once again - it's time to get with the ProgRAM.

Mindscape feat. Coppa - Most Wanted [Drum&BassArena]

With a combined history that expands over decades, Calyx & TeeBee’s discography is a journey which explores not only their own output, but the genre’s history. Having remixed commercial heavyweights such as Example, as well as underground tastemaker Tchami whilst blending genres and paying homage to their extensive craft, their experience is rivalled by none.

And yet again they continue their assault and return onto the scene with one of the most sought after tracks since its first play last year. Featuring the dancefloor genre talents of Doctor, who’s recently smashed his way onto the daytime radio airwaves, ‘Where We Go’ is a collaboration set to end the summer in spectacular style. 

An impressively innovative sonic piece of artwork, ‘Where We Go’ signifies another step towards the hugely anticipated ‘1X1’ LP. Crafting Doctor’s party-style vocals on top of an LFO-lead bassline and pounding drum patterns the first drop plummets you down a chasm so intricately constructed there’s no mistaking the duo’s signature production standard. One of the most epitomical moments from this year’s EDC, especially for representing drum & bass, there’s no mistaking the collective sigh of relief that it’s finally about to be unleashed.

Showcasing their impressive versatility, the flipside is just as impressive but a shade darker. ‘Ghost Writer’ utilises an imposing sample which sets up a break before smashing it down with pounding subs between a distorted bassline and elevated percussion. An early morning anthem which takes you in the murkiest corner of every club across the globe, it bares its teeth whilst propelling itself forward in a way which only Calyx & TeeBee can command.

Cynical Gene, originally from Brighton U.K now residing in Brussels Belgium .
After starting his DJ career nearly 15 years ago Cynical Gene decided to delve into the depths of music production around 2012 quickly getting his name out there with his own unique sound. 
With tracks on labels such as Physmatics Music, Grand Theft Audio and Serotone Recordings to name just a few, he's now pushing on with his sound and technical ability, and after being involved with one of Fragmented Recordings Various Artists LPs last year, Cynical Gene is back for his first solo release on the label!

A two track release of what he does best, dancefloor oriented tunes with a darker edge to them! Track one, Pest Control is a solo venture into the darker worlds providing syncopated drum beats complimented perfectly with that classic dark midrange bass we all know and love. Track two, a collaboration with producer KS takes a journey down more of a neurofunk path, fast pace beats throughout.
