Jay-One was born in North Lauderdale, Florida on May 4th 1990. He began writing songs and recording them off a karaoke machine when he was 12. That eventually led to him investing in a home studio when he was 15. Jay also produces, engineers, and even occasionally edits his own videos. He has been known to be notorious for his versatile flow, controversial lyrics, and soulful originality.
