got together with my dear friend myles martin aka cornelius..! to make a folder of drums and sounds. as usual, it originally started out for us and homies to use, but now we are setting free into the wild.

pack contents:

63 drum breaks & loops
11 drum fills
21 hi hat loops
25 drum one shots

 mics used:

 coles 4038 overheads
AKG 190es snare
AKG d112 kick

 everything was recorded and mixed through my tascam 388 (8 track 1/4 inch tape recorder) for maximum warmth and toastiness.

 

drums have been a huge part of my music making process lately and i really enjoy recording and mixing and getting to a sufficiently toasty result. im happy to be able to share some of my research with you guys here.

 

these drums are mixed enough to sound amazing and be usable right away, but they are not  overly compressed or drown in FX so that there is still some room for you to play around with compressors and transient shapers to get it sitting in your mix correctly.
