Anxiety Volume

New track by Hajj ( @hadji-hajj ) & Pithe ( @xxxpithexxx )! This will be included in GUN-X03, the new collaborative project between Club Late Music ( @club-late-music ) & Morsel ( @morsel-tales ). Will be out on November 20th.

Members of the GUN (Global URL Nation) community be asked to made a track with one poem as an inspiration [read below*]. The release comes with a writing zine and all proceeds for the compilation will go towards Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The album oscillates between a sombre, dynamic landscape through a selection of heart-felt ambient tracks to bass driven club rhythms, mirroring the dark melancholic yet heavenly imagery painted in the poem.


*"Never in my born days did I see such night
The day the angels put their wings to rest
Lonely feathers plucked from their backs drift politely
And nestle into cloudy swirls of grey, as bitter as the winter skies
And wither into ash from the lightning, smoke and rain 

Can you hear the angels mourning?
Can you hear them singing?
“Where is heaven 
for the heavenly”

As the faint patter of their tears reign on the curb beside me

Distant echoes 

I hear them

Here comes my messenger,
Shrouded in tarnished wings, gatekeeper of the other world
Onto a bronze key, he clings
Onto hope that we would meet again one day
He made me gatekeeper of this city
Until it’s time for me to sing along with him.

Until then, I hope I never see such night, again.

For his sixth 96 Back LP, Evan Majumdar-Swift found himself writing “a long form eulogy” to his years living in Manchester while preparing for an imminent move to London. Initially intended as a series of technical exercises, which saw the artist radically stripping back his established production setup, over the last two years tender, exit gradually took on the form of an emotional landscape, mapped in transit between two cities. “The overarching concept of the record is cycles, recognising them, loving them, and tearing yourself away from them,” he says. Heard together, the project takes on the pace and cadence of a passionate conversation with a loved one.
