Internet obsession, rave-nostalgia & intense anxiety surrounding death. A sense of purpose was dwindling from euphoric moments. Extended eye contact till you can feel it in your stomach, to be everlasting, to look up to the sky & say: “This feels Like Heaven”.

Grasps_ develops their signature sound, using Heaven as an ode to the meaningful connections forged through their work. The Eora (Sydney) based artist unpacks and reflects on the experiences of urban dread and trepidation, intimacy and desolation, overtly depicted through a lens of melancholia.

Neoliberal biopolitics places us as listeners in a scenario where the use of noise as an emancipatory tool becomes impossible. Its operational system avoids any possibility of sonic dissidence around noise, automatically converting it into a signal, amplified and returnable into a profitable investment. 

This form of violence is systemic but subtle. Faced with this praxis, we propose a solution based on the evidence of sonic barbarism, towards the physical.

The imperative to return to our bodies their emancipatory capacity through their corporeality. A sound wave so abrasive that it is impossible to digest, acting directly on the body and letting Chaos reigns in its evidence.
