New Urban Frontier are Edinburgh's fast-flowing muzikal mash-mash. A politicised punk-inspired dub-loving, soul-singing, ska-swinging six-piece live band with a rapper.
They came together with a passion to create a new sound. Politically charged noise for the new generation. Inspired by the punk ethos of old and the challenging voices of the few modern bands who seek to motivate, their aim is to blow apart the idea of being a 'genre'.
With a sound that is a high-paced mashup of punk, hip-hop, ska, and dub, while not quite being any of those they have garnered quite a reputation for their passionate live performances.
On the back of releasing their debut album 'Game of Capital', New Urban Frontier have played gigs across Scotland, including Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh and the North of England in Newcastle and Durham. They have also played stages at a number of festivals such as Kelburn Garden Party, Eden Festival, Audio Soup and the main stage at Doune the Rabbit Hole.
With new album 'Liquid City' on the way, they hope to push things further and get and get more people moving.
