Biography 
Originally from Germany, Lara has spent many years living in Australia, South America, Asia, and Europe. Now settled between Germany and India, she has been immersed in global psychedelic culture for over a decade. Her deep connection with electronic music began at a very young age, allowing her to witness the evolution of various sound portals at festivals and parties across the globe. She has absorbed the pulse of countless dancefloors, tuning into the rhythms and frequencies of different cultures and scenes.  As her energy synced with the music, it unfolded into a strong desire to step behind the decks. By the end of the year in 2023, the project Kaliiraa was born on the beautiful shores of Goa in Anjuna. Now, she brings her love and passion for psytrance music to the stage - inviting everyone who feels the call to join her on this journey.

Vision
Music has always been more than sounds and vibrations; it is pure energy, alchemy, and shelter. It is a home where we can always return, whenever we need it.  I want to share music that has given me a sense of belonging, deep release, and infinite possibilities… to open a space where the outside world fades and where we all become one heartbeat under the same rhythm.  Through playing music, I want to be part of the family that psytrance creates, belonging a tribe full of many amazing artists who are bringing so much creativity, beauty, and inspiration into the world. Whether it is a visual thing or a magical experience, what I love about it, is that it is consciously created through an expression of talent and/or the power of imagination.

Performance 
Carefully selected from a personal reference of her favorite artists, each track is chosen with intention, to be the bridge and channel the magic to the dancefloor.  The storytelling is crafted into a hypnotic, powerful and rolling journey, full of groove and unexpected twists, dedicated to creating moments of joy that reflect the spirit of the music behind it.

[Ultra short version]

Even as a child, my parents and I sang children's songs together before going to sleep and played the mandolin and harmonica.
I discovered my love of music very early on, initially classical music and classical pop music, then later metal and punk, and my musical spectrum constantly expanded.
It all started with a speed-controlled cassette recorder.
I produced mixtapes for various people in my circle of friends at the time.
In 1994, I started playing music once a month in a youth club with rave and trance CDs, which people liked very much and motivated me to continue.

I started buying vinyl at Hardwax in 1996. At that time, my genres were rave, trance and, above all, classic techno.
In the beginning, I also used normal turntables without pitch range.
Later, we bought replica DJ turntables and mixers. My friends and I practiced diligently at home and DJed for ourselves.
Once again in the record store, I came across the Goatrance genre by chance. 
Unfortunately, I didn't know what it was called at the time, which made it difficult to find the right music. Naturally, I searched very hard for vinyl in this genre.
More or less by chance, I found what I was looking for. My first album was from TIP Records, the album is called Phosphorescent, these records are very close to my heart. I still enjoy listening to these songs today!

I continued to collect vinyl for many years. In 2005 I was invited by a psy crew called Goapunxx to play at one of their events.
From then on we went our musical way together, mostly at free parties and freeteks. For more than 25 years now, I've been the resident DJ of the festival and event series under my DJ name Ogrim[izer] at Gaggalacka and Zappelkiste. Later, since about 2017, I also officially DJ at the Dresden club SektorEvolution.
My absolute favorite genres are techno, psy-techno, deep techno, tech house and acid techno as well as progressive trance, psytrance, full-on, twilight, forest and darkpsy.

As there was later often confusion as to what genres I was playing at the countless parties, I then adopted the alias "Motoric*Cortex"² under which I exclusively play techno and genre-related music. 

² (Motorcortex, the part of the brain that is responsible for the movement of our body)
