Hip-Hop artist DJ Taywon Blak formerly performed with a group named Goldn Stablez (GS). He admits to being a true hip-hop head although listens to many genre of music. My Adidas Tour with Run-DMC, LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys. Growing up I spent summers in New Jersey so I witnessed first hand the evolution of Hip-Hop". Furthermore, "growing up my dad played a lot of Jazz from Grover Washington Jr., Herbie Handcock, Boney James and a slew of R&B artist like Stevie Wonder, Prince and Marvin Gaye".  Being raised in Norther California's Bay Area the amount of exposure to both East Coast and West coast music has molded who Taywon Blak has become as an artist but more so as a person. "I am fortunate to have seen both sides of the game (East and West Coast) from an early age. From the deep rooted beginnings of Afrika Bambata, Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5 and DJ Red Alert to Too $hort, Richie Rich, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, Ice  T ect".  The culture since a youth will forever be embedded in his soul, watching the likes of DJ Qbert as a kid and seeing where we are as a culture now "I feel the need to keep it as pure as possible but still keeping open to all the new sounds as the new generations evolve".
