On the very first episode of Don't Call Me "Exotic", Annie is joined by soul singer and songwriter Amahla. Mentored by Nile Rogers and nominated for an Ivor Novello award for her socio-political songwriting, she speaks to Annie about challenging the Anthropology curriculum at University College London, her activism and discusses whether the music industry has done enough one year on after George Floyd.

On the second episode of Don't Call Me "Exotic", Annie is joined by DJ, director,&nbsp;curator and artist, Almass Badat. Rounding up her residency on BBC Asian Network, she speaks on becoming the representation in music that was missed growing up, how P Diddy was unknowingly her cultural landmark at school, the recent growth of the South Asian music scene and on her exploration of incorporating her South Asian culture into her DJ sets.

She speaks to Annie about being constantly asked the question… “Where are you from from?”, how she landed her job at Soundway Records by being the Head of Logistics for a 5k capacity electronic festival in Cuba… (without internet) and being asked to look more “Asian” while DJing a diversity event.

On this episode of Don't Call Me "Exotic”, Annie is joined by DJ and radio presenter (Rinse FM) Jordss. She speaks to Annie on starting up her radio show Black Joy Archives as an outlet to celebrate songs connected to her and her guests’ Black experience, racism within both the TV and music industries, and why accountability is her word for the year.

On the final episode of the first series, Annie is joined by @seangran, former booker for Ace Hotel London Shoreditch, founder of music platform @staycoolfam & Music Curator at Twitch. He speaks to Annie about the changes in London nightlife in the past four years, the racist 696 event forms, the lack of Black owned spaces and the importance of night clubs and how integral they are to an artist’s career.
