After his fabulous Horizons LP release last year, Popnoname asked a handful of good artist friends to do a few remixes for him. A whole year of pandemic has passed, and now the long-awaited, newly interpretations by artists such as @adaofficial, Astrobal (@lesfraisessauvages), @axelboman , @bryankessler and MYR (@nobodyknowsmyr) have finally come out into the light, to spread some hope and positive vibrations for a brighter future.

Spiritual Wave Phonk, Atmospheric Trap Vibe: Transcendental, mystical, ethereal, underwater, hypnotic Instruments: Deep sub-bass (808s), reverb-drenched Bansuri (Indian flute), distant Sitar melodies, crisp lo-fi trap drums, lush synthesizer pads Description: A chill and wavy Phonk track that feels like a spiritual journey. The melody features a slowed-down, hypnotic sample of an Indian Bansuri flute and Sitar, heavily treated with reverb and delay to sound spacious and distant. The drums are rhythmic but relaxed with triplet hi-hats. The atmosphere is thick and hazy, combining the gritty texture of a cassette tape with a mystical, meditative eastern aesthetic.

In June 2020, Moving Pictures released its first comp. “Isolation Scripts” landed around the same time as "social distancing.” Now, the label moves forward with another collection of tracks! “Porcelain Atoll” welcomes both familiar faces and newcomers. Falling into the latter group, Thrown also makes his official debut. The Czech native follows support by Joris Voorn with more eye-catching “Naughty Flowers."

Years in the making since meeting at a Vancouver coffee shop in 2014, we (@iainhowiemusic and @factoreight) are excited to finally debut our collaborative entity ‘0110’

Under our new record label with the same title, we see ‘0110’ as a platform with which we can create freely — not needing to fit in one particular box or another — experimenting, taking risks, and putting freedom of expression above all else.

‘0110’ is a love letter to a time when fans would obsessively listen to albums from front to back — deciphering hidden meanings and overarching themes in the music from their favourite artists.

We find inspiration in personal turmoil and triumphs — translating emotional energy into ones and zeroes — finding new pieces of ourselves in the process.

Our debut single ‘Undone’ is available now on all platforms.

Undone

Release twenty-five on Manjumasi comes from intriguing Swedish producer Karl David Ola Sabel, aka Birds ov Paradise. A master of darkly shining brilliance, his work is at once deep and murky, yet textured and detailed. Originally released as a vinyl exclusive in 2020, the Köpp EP now comes out of lockdown to see a digital release with two additional tracks.

He title track Köpp is an insistent and slowly building journey. Shimmering metallic synth tones float over a staccato bassline that develops powerful energy throughout the track’s crescendo. Bosse kicks off with a hard-hitting broken-beat groove that is punctuated by potent bass hits. Up top, space is created by a wafting layer of haunting and ethereal atmospherics. Next up is Gubben, with some of the darkest sounds on the EP set amidst an energy that manages to simultaneously feel both sinister and playful. Reversed bass tones and punchy percussion set the mood, making way for the track’s incredible and eerie vocal elements. Rounding out the digital release, Barbro is another fantastic piece of musical hypnosis, and Majken closes the EP with deep bass hits and glittering synth tones.
