From Solace is me taking a moment to bookmark my sound as not just a producer, but also as an artist and creative person. I’m reconciling with my flaws, as well as my past traumas, and hardships. With these 18 songs I took some moments and liberties to try finding peace in my pain, and I also took the effort to figure out where my drive to create art truly comes from, regardless of societal pressures and barriers that I like to consume myself with. I’m taking the things I enjoy most about music and meshing them into a controlled chaos, a project gargantuan in its influence, obliterated into smaller jigsaw pieces, then equalized and compressed to fit a singular idea for you to enjoy. I also return to performing vocals on a couple of songs, and others feature friends I’ve made along the way! Without the support of you and my loved ones that I hold close, I wouldn’t have made it through this compositional cycle, or even thought about making this disc, but here it is.
This is not an album for playlists, algorithms, or streams. It’s my most personal work on display.

PURPLE is the first of many albums in the CHROMATIC series. I wanted to take my music in more of a Pop-oriented songwriter direction while not neglecting my EDM and Bass production roots. A good majority of the songs on the album reflect the concept of minimalism, doing more with less. I tried to really only add instruments where they were needed or felt necessary as opposed to just building layers just to build them up.

PURPLE

RED//BLUE is a companion album to my album called "PURPLE" that I released earlier in March. It is an experimental effort that was almost never released. I tried out a few things here that eventually led me in the direction of where I am going next. A rebrand, a new idea, a new sound for Ohpal. You won't hear that new sound here, but consider this a lead-up to it. I'm excited to share my ideas past this point. This album was me trying to stitch together to completely polar opposite vibes together, and I wanted the entire project to feel as if you are in limbo... in between two very distinct choices.

RED//BLUE

This is my album 'ultraviolet'. It concludes the chromatic series that I started back in PURPLE. This album took me forever to drop, I had to jump over a few hurdles to get it to a point where I felt good enough to drop it. Thank you for a fun 2025 ♥ - Jake
