éner is DJ and music lover from Rostock, Germany. He has found his love for electronic music in the early 90s and since 2005 he has a great passion for djing with Vinyl.

éner founded the @deep-smooth-podcast channel in 2014 together with @fuzeman from France who subsequently became part of the channel. Also part of this collective is Sara. She is the graphic designer and illustrator for D&S Podcasts.

In 2018 éner met the @faultierdisko guys and they became friends as well as colleagues. Faultierdisko is a DJ Team, Podcast Series, a Label and an event organizing crew in near future.

Here it is - the last month of winter. Only a few weeks left until we can welcome spring at least formally. Only a few weeks left until winter melancholy might fade away or turn into spring melancholy. Berlin’s winter vibes - that’s only one of a few inspirations that gave birth to Schleichcast°36 (read below). It's funny how winter (blues) could be the underlying mood to create this mix, but at the same time, with its gentle groove and all those musical blasts from today and the past, it might also put you in a state where you remember and relive more lighthearted memories from when those banger tracks were playing. In case you are sort of a downtempo nerd plus someone who tends to connect specific tracks or sets to past moments or phases in life. Or picture this scenario: Right now you are not even located in Berlin nor in a comparable climate zone and this set plays in the background while the sun is shining on your belly. Totally different vibe outcome, right?! One way or another, these two things are for sure: Warmer days will come and we think this Schleichcast is an outstanding musical journey. Thanks so much dear Sophie for contributing to our series with this listening pleasure!

>>Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Sophie and I'm from France, I've been living in Berlin for 5 years now :) To think I was only supposed to stay for 2 months at the beginning...

>>How did you learn to mix?
My roommates, the awesome Total Regal, showed me how it works. I wanted to learn how to mix to send a set to my little sister who was in the hospital and couldn't be contacted or visited for months. I wanted to share my emotions and love to her through music. Later I noticed that I also love to play in public and share beautiful moments, good vibes and music on a dancefloor.

>>What inspired you for the set?
Quite a few things: the word schleichend, or as I understand it & the winter vibes in Berlin. It's also a selection of tracks or contributions from my favourite artists (the voice of the wonderful Lemonella saying powerful words by Terrence McKenna, the soundtrack of my favourite film, tracks from Wide Awake, Brigade,...).

>>What is the moment in your life as an artist that has had the greatest impact on you? 
The moment when I realised that I really wanted to keep on mixing, and learn to become better. It was at Kitkat this summer, for my first "big Gig", b2b with my roommate. The vibe shared on the dance floor and the energy of the people touched me a lot, it was such a fun moment, and I thought: "I really, really want to do this again!" 

>>What are the goals you want to achieve as an artist? 
My dream would be that it continues: to be allowed to play in the places where I have danced for years: in my favourite clubs in Berlin (mensch meier & kater blau are on the top list), in festivals during the summer...and one dream very high one the list, create my own tracks one day.

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Weißte, manchmal steh ich einfach am Wasser und blicke hinab. So weit wie man eben blicken kann. Nicht so richtig weit eigentlich. Stille Wasser sind tief, sagen dann manche. Ich glaube manche hören nur einfach nicht zu: @ju_nixe

Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? Besides being the name of a famous Gauguin painting, these are questions that have most probably been valid for any given time period. In ancient Greece, Socrates believed that the purpose of the human mind is to explore the nature of virtue in order to perfect the soul and build a life based on ethical knowledge. Epicurus thought, meanwhile, that the goal of living is to receive pleasure, not sensory though, but through getting rid of physical pain, emotional restlessness, suffering and fear of death. Medieval Europe and India, despite cultural differences, had the same understanding of the meaning of life – worship of ancestors, adherence to common religious and mythical ideals, and the importance of ascribed status. Schopenhauer defined a person’s life as the product of a metaphysical will: people think they act on their own, but are in reality driven by someone else’s will. Danish philosopher Kierkegaard argued that life is full of absurdity and that humans must create their own values in an indifferent world. Pragmatic philosophers believe that instead of searching for the truth about life, people should seek a useful understanding of life. And so on and so forth. Natural disasters, epidemics, wars, the rich and the poor will come and go, but questions about the meaning of life and those who seek answers for them have always been and will forever be there. The text turned out this way perhaps because when listening to @oh_why’s music, you want to either ask yourself Gauguin’s questions or be the one who finds the answers.
