Rock God Part 1

Firstly she came on the scene as part of a children’s band when she was six years old.

When she was 11, she entered the children’s show-group «Jam-C». Oksana had  a very strong voice, fighting spirit , charismatic looks and creative ambitions  from the early childhood and being in the group she developed them more. Under the guidance of experienced teachers she took part in many international competitions and festivals and  for many times became the awardee of I and II awards, the Grand Prix. (Ukraine «Veselad», «Young Galicia», «Spivanochka — Dzhazochka», «Your Dawn» (“Tvoja Zorya”), Turkey — Izmir , Poland, Slovakia , Hungary).

As a young artist Oksana was a repeatedly participant and the  winner of different  Kyiv Children’s TV competitions. Being only 13 years old she was invited by Yuri Rybczynski, a poet and People’s Artist of Ukraine, to take part in his creative jubilee concerts. He wrote the unique song for her when she was just 18  years old.  The band «Jam-C» was a wishful guest on the National Radio.

The wonderful voice of the young singer has inspired authors of Dnepropetrovsk and Kiev. This helped Oksana to have a plenty of songs of her own repertoire.

She graduated from the Musical School on pandora’s class . In 1999 th young girl entered the Theater and Art College. In 2002 she graduated from college as a Drama  Actress.

In 1998 the 17th years old singer took the I prize of the international competition «Yalta – 98″ within the confines of the international festival «Sea of Friends». A bit later she became the winner of the Ukrainian contest «Song’s Vernissage».

In 1999 Oksana won the international award FIDOF (PROF. Armando Moreno Los Angeles) at the international competition «Slavic Bazaar -99″ (Slavyanskyi Bazar-99). After that she was given a lot of other contest’s awards in Lithuania (Vilnius) and Macedonia(Sarajevo — » Eurofest»).

In 2002 she won the special prize at the International Jazz Competition «Dodj # -2002».

In 2010 Oksana Shavkun has taken  part in the TV show «X Factor»(Ukraine).

Oksana Shavkun has a very wide voice range. Both folk and the world hits  from different eras and genres sounds greatly.  She sings equally organic folk-rock , and cabaret , jazz and popular music.
