El año pasado tuvimos el placer de conocer y pinchar junto a Augusto hasta pasada la madrugada en uno de los encuentros latinoamericanos propuestos por Selvagem. 

Trepanado es uno de los fundadores y quien dirige ahora Selvagem, como también Selva discos, sello encargado de re editar joyas de la música brasilera.

Sin dudas Augusto es uno de los djs referentes de la escena, con una gran habilidad para descubrir discos y una técnica exquisita. A mitad del 2019, lanzo el compilado Street Soul Brasil (1987-1995),vía el sello Hello Sailor de U.S.A.

Este mix, nombrado por él como “Molhado de Delay” ya que fue grabado con el pedal de FX prendido durante la sesión, comienza con sonidos ideales para entrar en ambiente y terminar bailando.

This weeks episode brings a return to our ‘Bside Incoming’ series, the worldwide mixtape series that brings you the best of the Bside from the record collections of our favourite selectors. We’re very excited about this one, our guests name literally translates from the Arabic for ‘The Home of Disco’, and its truly an impressive hour of feel good music from the Arab world and beyond: Dar Disku.

World selectors Vish and Mazen grew up in close proximity on the island of Bahrain. Currently based in Bristol the pair have brought the sunshine of their eastern influences with them to radio airwaves and dance floors across the UK. Their ever increasing prestige as purveyors of global sounds has allowed them to share turntables with Habibi Funk, Esa, Awesome Tapes from Africa, Worldwide Fm, and one of our past guests Nabihah Iqbal as part of her outstanding BBC Radio residency. Their Label is also gaining status, with their most recent release has been played out by the likes of Palms Trax, Hunee, and DJ Seinfeld. Algumas palavras...

As ilhas baleares sempre estiveram quilômetros de distância da minha realidade. Nunca vi os verões de Ibiza e muito menos presenciei a pista ferver ao som do baleárico.
No entanto, eu estive em Salvador, Bahia.
Ali, eu dancei nas praias ao som dos axés, pagodes, afoxés; e saravei nos vários dois de fevereiros quando a praia é todinha só da gente.  
Por conta disso - por eu estar “afroabetizado” demais à essa altura da vida – o baleárico tem um outro sentido dentro de mim.
E esse set evoca o que esse termo representa na minha alma: pistas de dança em formatos de praias, gente preta cantando e dançando, as areias se agitando ao som de vozes fortes e percussões agressivas.

Aqui eu chamo de “Baleáfrico”!

Few words...

The balearic islands have always been miles away from my reality. I’ve never seen the hot summers of Ibiza and all the dance floors there going wild with the balearic beat.
However... I went to Salvador, Bahia.
There I danced on the beaches to the sounds of axés, pagodes and afoxés.
Because of this – due the fact that I am already far too “afroalphabetized” at this point of my life – the concept of balearic have another meaning to me.
This mix evokes what balearic represents to me: brazilian dance floors in shapes of beaches, black people singing and dancing, the sand vibrating due the sound of the booming voices.

Here in Brasil I call "Baleáfrico"!
