Wonderfully sung and a great addition to the male repertoire -

The lush harmonies are an amazing contrast to the simple chant tune.  Blows me away.

Newly published by Walton Music (US)/Edition Peters (UK), this piece for SATB choir a cappella is partly derived from my first Ubi Caritas from 2001 and is a setting of another stanza of the Ubi text.

Cliff Martinez -  "Pan To Me" (from MY LIFE DIRECTED BY NICOLAS WINDING REFN)

This romantic etude contains expressive left-hand melodies that are quite poignant, heard against the right-hand's melodic material. Alexander Scriabin uses rich clusters with many falling phrases and lots of juicy suspensions.  He was only about 14 years old when he wrote this.

This was recorded on a Yamaha P80 digital piano in 2004.

The lyrics for Tundra were written by my frequent collaborator, poet Charles Anthony Silvestri. I asked Tony to write a text based on the title and photos of a part of my native Norway that is very dear to me, the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. It’s pretty close to where my father grew up, in the mountains between Oslo and Bergen. Hardangervidda is quite barren and intensely beautiful—it is easy to feel that you are treading on sacred land, which Tony describes so evocatively in his text:

Wide, worn and weathered, 
Sacred expanse
Of green and white and granite grey; 
Snowy patches strewn, 
Anchored to the craggy earth, 
Unmoving;
While clouds dance
Across the vast, eternal sky.
