Palms DJ Mix 2014

This set was first performed on January 1st 2024 in San Francisco at the Breakfast of Champions block party on the Space Cowboys main stage.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. It's a live/hybrid set.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

Way Out West - Classics Mix March 2015

Aahz was a nightclub theme at the Beacham Theatre in Orlando, Florida from 1988–1992. The Aahz-themed events were part of the "Late Night" series at the Beacham. The final Aahz-themed events were held between September 1991 and July 1992.

The Edge was a nightclub in Orlando, Florida that opened in 1992. It was a popular venue for the Florida breaks, House,and early trance music scene, which emerged in the late 1980s at the Beacham Theatre. There were also Edge clubs in Jacksonville and Ft Lauderdale. 


The Masquerade Atlanta opened in 1989 at the historic DuPre Excelsior Mill converted into a concert/nightclub venue, hosting styles ranging from punk rock to electronic music. Its three stages, named after the afterlife destinations—Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell—forge distinct musical identities. The club still exists at a new location but it will never have the same vibe it once carried.

Hybrid was founded by Chris Healings and Mike Truman. Since first bursting onto the scene with the now classic album Wide Angle in 1999, the Swansea, Wales-based Hybrid have been known as one of the most forward thinking and technically skilled acts in electronic dance music. Blurring the line between in-studio production and live presentation, Hybrid are one of the few remaining dance acts to perform live with a classic band setup.

Their unique style of everything progressive has lead them to international start status, producing music for movies and tv shows as well.

In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and many other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.

This mix was part of Annie Nightingale's Glastonbury Breakbeat Special back in June 2004.

The Stanton Warriors have discography about as long as my arm ! Consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks, which seemed fitting with their style of underground, cutting edge music.

Still touring globally today the duo have cemented themselves in EDM history and known worldwide with over 1 million Facebook fans, their own label Punks Music and a continued devotion to the Breaks and Bass scene.

This is a direct studio promo mix that i managed to get my hands on back in 2008.

Meat Katie aka Mark Pember is an electronic musician who was one of the pioneering artists in the Tech Funk genre a combination of Techno, Tribal, Breakbeat & House music. This mix from 2004 is a highlight of his sound and the very beginnings of the Tech Funk genre. Meat Katie is still active today in the music scene, in June 2013 Mark started a Podcast series ‘Lowering The Tone’ which in 2016 morphed into a Progressive Techno Label. He now records exclusively for Lowering The Tone and is currently working on his fourth artist album, he still hosts Lowering The Tone podcast & also co-hosts ‘Setting The Tone’ (Podcast) with Ben Coda.
