Flytrap - Episode 152

I was going through some of my old hardrives (again) and found a few mixes i did way back in 2004. From memory i did this one on 2 x Technics 1200's, a dodgy 2 channel mixer, crap amp and recorded it to Soundforge on a Celeron laptop. I still own all these tracks on good old vinyl to this day. (I have remastered this mix).

Pecoe - Breaks Mix August 2004

Ctrl Z pronounced Control Z were a UK duo consisting of Tommy Dash and Nicky ‘Inch’ D’Silva as it's members. Well known in the early days of Nu Skool Breaks of producing high tempo hardcore tear out breakbeat they had over 50 releases on well respected labels of the time. Labels such as Against the Grain, Lot49, Botchit & Scarper, Passenger, Functional, Rat Records and Hardcore Beats. 

This mix from Australia's Triple J Radio from 2010 was personally ripped/downloaded by me and is a great memory of what Ctrl Z was up too music wise at that time.

About Sychosis:
SYCHOSIS née Alexander Dias has spent a lifetime in music. Trained classically he toured Europe and North America as part of a boys choir from the ages of 11 to 17. He has spent more than a decade as a part of San Francisco’s thriving Electronic Music scene. And in the last few years he has seen a steady rise as his music has caught the attention of the likes of Stanton Warriors, The Crystal Method, Tommy Trash, Reid Speed, DJ Craze, Treasure Fingers, Wuki and Astronomar. Basically Tayo is a legend when it comes to the breakbeat scene.....

After paying his warm up dues as a drum and bass DJ alongside Fabio, Grooverider and Peshay, Tayo set up Friction with fellow members of the breakbeat elite, Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem and watched the club and it’s residents become a focal point for the UK breakbeat sound.

With other residencies back in the day at Fabric, Bugged Out! and Big Beat Boutique to name a few and various appearances on the Kiss FM Breakbeat show Tayo made a name for himself as a DJ playing along side the likes of Carl Cox, Layo & Bushwacka, Hybrid, Lee Burridge and Craig Richards as well as the endless people he met while on his travels around the world.

After a 2 month stint in Australia playing various clubs and festivals Tayo put together the exclusive mix for Triple J Radio back in January 2004.
