One of the pioneers in the early 2000's breaks scene Lee Coombs became a popular artist and DJ after releasing music on the world renowned breaks label Finger Lickin Records. Lee has a special style in music so when the Tech Funk genre started to flair up he fitted right in with that close to 4 on the floor and a hint of breakbeat. Lee is still around today and has been airing streams over the internet during these CO-VID times.

This mix was recorded for Triple J Radio Australia in 2004 and is an example of Lee's musical style.

Evil Nine are an English DJ/Producer duo comprising of members Tom Beaufoy and Patrick Pardy. Gaining recognition after signing to Adam Freelands label Marine Parade in the early 2000's their unique type of production of breakbeat music gathered a high following worldwide and had a very influential effect in the early Nuskool Breaks scene.

This mix was recorded LIVE at One Live in Brighton back in November 2003 for the Annie Nightingale Show known as Annie On One back then.

Burning Man is an event focused on music, community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance held annually at Black Rock City in north western Nevada, The event derives its name from its culmination: the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, referred to as the Man, that occurs on the penultimate night of Burning Man, which is the Saturday evening before Labor Day.

This rare set from Adam Freeland was recorded LIVE at Burning Man back in 2003 and is a great selection of Nu Skool Breaks when Adam Freeland was in his prime as a DJ and artist.

The original files recorded levels were everywhere so i have fixed them up and mastered this mix as best i could.

Well where do i start ? Commonly known as “The Godfather of Breaks” Rennie Pilgrem’s contribution to the early Nuskool Breaks scene is outstanding and given this title is often considered responsible for the creation of the Nuskool Breaks genre. Before moving into breaks Rennie produced techno and acid house and was part of the influential rave group Rhythm Section along with Ellis Dee. Rennie is also the boss of Thursday Club Recordings aka TCR a label which he founded in 1993. TCR records was a major force in the Nuskool Breaks scene. Now concentrating more on his talented art skills Rennie has stepped back from the dance scene and continues to produce some great works of art.

Nubreed was a trio of Australian record producers Jason Catherine, Michael Walburgh, and Danny Bonnici (vocalist). The three met while working on various musical projects around Melbourne and soon realized they had something special going with the new project they started together called Nubreed. On the stage they dished up a raw, explosive and dynamic live show with mixers, effect units, samplers and all kinds of Nubreed like gadgetry.

This mix was recorded Live for Australia's Triple J Radio back in February 2006.

Elite Force aka Simon Shackleton has had an extensive career spanning over 2 decades. Starting off as a musician and being a band member with Thom Yorke (Radiohead) before moving onto his own outfit called Lunatic Calm which had quite a successful career and a few number one tunes including "Rollercoaster". Simon has also worked with a bunch of top musical acts, remixed, wrote movie soundtracks, toured and was one to watch in the Nuskool Breaks scene. He then developed the Tech Funk genre in the late 2000's included with such artists as Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes to name a few. This mix was recorded for Annie Nightingale and her breakbeat show at the time known as Annie On One, One referring to the radio station BBC Radio 1.

Elite Force - Annie Nightingale Show BBC Radio 1 - 8.7.2003

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
