Swinging rhythms, heavy bass, no pretense. Bronx-born producer ONE shotta channels garage, bassline, and UK club traditions with a raw, off-kilter edge. His tracks nod to the roots while refusing to sit still—speed garage at the core, drifting into UKG, house, and flashes of jungle.

A deep love for 4x4 disco underpins the project. ONE shotta threads that pulse into every track, fusing disco’s rolling momentum with the grit of UK club sounds. It’s a subtle but vital influence—keeping the swing infectious and the floor in constant motion.

Raised on punk, hardcore, and live band energy before immersing himself in underground club culture, ONE shotta approaches dance music with both reverence and curiosity. Years of digging with close collaborator DJ Manteca sharpened his ear for the histories behind the sound, feeding into a project rooted in sound system tradition but focused firmly on the future.

With a debut release on the horizon, ONE shotta is carving out space in the modern garage resurgence—personal, weighty, and always in motion.

Hailing from Melbourne, Old China is a prime example of the city’s vast range of talented DJs that has been quietly honing his craft since 2016. A style drenched from influences of golden era Hip Hop fused with Bass music, deep Dubstep & rolling Drum & Bass, his sets are packed full of dope track selection and tight mixing that steadily keeps a dance floor vibing.
Regularly playing at Melbourne’s infamous ‘Homebass’ & ‘SWRVE’ parties hosted by renowned crews Whomp!, Plasma Collaborative, and The Operatives, and supporting international acts like Zed Bias, DJ Marky, Chase & Status, Ivy Lab, Skeptical and more. As well as playing multiple times at Esoteric Festival, Archaic Gathering, Sub-Terra, Rain Dance Festival and Tanglewood Festival.
As a punter, Old China has had constant drive since 2008 to seek out and experience different gigs, parties and festivals both locally and internationally. This alone is a sure indication of the passion & dedication Old China puts into his love for music.
