PillowTalk's warm jazzed out reimagining of "If This World Were Mine" works on so many levels. Taking just a vocal outro harmony sung by Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell, they have created a future soul classic.  Complete with live instrumentation and key arrangement, these fellas just have a way of putting a new stamp on these timeless compositions. It’s been almost a year since Izo FitzRoy burst on to the scene with her debut single and ever since, this charismatic soul songstress has built an ever-growing fan base off the back of tireless touring and a series of strong singles from her debut album ‘Skyline’. Her winning combination of raw and powerful vocals and direct and honest lyricism has seen her gain support from the likes of Blues & Soul, Uncut, Eton Messy  and Echoes to name a few.

Written during her time living in New Orleans the title track from the album has become her live calling-card and this single package really packs a punch with not only the original version but three heavyweight remixes to accompany it. 

‘Skyline’ is an emotive and empowering gospel-tinged ballad that sees Izo deliver a message of how staying hopeful and focused on the future when going through troubles can help you overcome anything. The delicate and subtle instrumentation is perfectly contrasted with her soulful vocal lines and uplifting lyrics.

Here's another one of my personal edits that I've never planned on releasing in the Underdog vinyl series. In fact, I released it some time ago as an exclusive download on the great blog site, Dilated Choonz (http://dilate.choonz.com). This being one of my favorite cuts, growing up in clublife in Chicago, I wanted to give it a slight twist. As my man from Dilated Choonz, Kevvy K said, "Leonard has wisely treated this with a great deal of respect and chosen not to take away from the original production.. instead drawing it out to make it even more haunting and hypnotic." Couldn't have said it any better!
