Hand of Grace (Solo)

Heavenly Towers was written in the Summer of 2021. It tells a brief story of my last 5 years living on the road, and the various episodes of gripping reality, only to have it slip away again and again. The "we" and "you" in the song refers to the numerous partners I shared the journey with.

Tempers fly
A series of sighs in the morning
But I ain't got kids in the kitchen

And what about change?
A ticking of time on the subject
How many years will it take
For the train to come home?

We watch TV
And there ain't nothin good to see
The seasons change

We drove the van
We headed west into the sunset
We lived our Kerouac lives
On the coast
Your hair was dry
But it's still raining in the mountains
I built you Heavenly towers

We took a chance
And found out what it means to dance
We lost our way

All of these God-fearing roads
Where do they all go?
Do they flee from the next thing
To come our way?

We settled in
We watched a fallin of a culture
Nobody's huggin anymore
In the street 
And what's it all mean?
Is it all just for the passing?
Or a throwing of stones
Through our love?

Heavenly Towers (Demo)

In 2020, my friend and fellow musician Chris Banach (My Favorite Fence, Faint Little Things) came together for a few days after not seeing eachother for a few years and collaborated in writing this song. I came to him with the chorus and guitar riff already writte, and within a days work Chris activated his songwriting magic and Taciturn was born and bred.
