trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?

Fulltone: I got inspired to produce “C’est bon” during my last visit to Paris, "C’est bon" was one of the sentences I kept hearing while walking through the beautiful streets of Paris, surrounded by the beautiful architecture and history. When I got back to the studio I had an idea of making a track that would capture the vibes I was getting during my trip. 

The idea of “Mahe’” came to me during my trip to Seychelles and got inspired by the mesmerizing out of this world nature, Mahe’ is the name of the Capital of Seychelles and I wanted to make a music piece that breathes and reflects the beauty I was in during my trip. 

Where did you record it? And how?

The whole EP was recorded at my studio in Cairo using all my beloved gear! 

With "Mahe" I used a Charango (South American stringed instrument), a kalimba and a classical guitar for the main melodies, all recorded using an AKG C414 Mic and SSL preamp going to a universal audio Apollo interface. For the beats I used my Elektron analog rytm and some field recording I did with my iPhone. For the bass I went for my go to synth for bass the Moog sub37 and also used bass guitar for the baseline during the first part of the song. I remember also using a Gibson J45 acoustic guitar to play the main riff.

“C’est bon” I started with the groove and struggled for a while to find a nice hook for it, then one day my step sister was at the studio and she has a beautiful voice, I had an idea of recording some vocal pads playing the chords of the track, so we recorded each note of each chord of the whole chord progression and I still felt something was missing, so I tried a trick I had read about a while ago, I side-chained a gate on the vocal pads triggered by a programmed hihat pattern and instantly got that stuttering effect you hear on the vocals on the drop, the rest was all fine crafting to finalize the track.

How did you get in contact with the record label?

Klassified label owners (Julien and Thomas AKA Parallells) are very close friends of mine that I consider family. When we decided to release a Fulltone EP on their label I sent them some tracks but highlighted that C’est bon and Mahe were my favorites, they agreed and here we are now :)) EP is about to go out with fantastic remixes from Audiofly & Jonas Saalbach 

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects? 

I have a few releases in the pipe line, I have an EP coming out early next year on Keller Berlin with an amazing remix from Powel, a podcast for All Day I Dream, a remix for my dear friends ElMundo & PHCK coming out on Earthly Delights and finally a collab track with “a surprise” coming out on “another surprise”.

Music with instinct, created from the deepest part of the guts and directed to our primitive subconscious minds is what Musica Cavernicola has to offer. The brand, founded by the duo from Madrid SOSANDLOW, announces its new release “Over My Dead Body” by Pontias.

The EP is formed by 5 tracks, three originals and two remixes by EdOne and I AM JAS. The opening track is EdOne’s remix, which was born to be a hit. The Spanish producer, an owner of superior creative capacity, delivers an intelligent remix with a strong and direct groove whose protagonist is a synth that is simply mind-blowing. Tina Ferinetti’s voice helps the punch to coincide with the climax. The EP continues with the original track “Over My Dead Body” to which the French artist has given intensity and a deep character. Through its development, the synths keep a harmonious dialogue with each other in which Tina’s beautiful voice acts as an intermediary. “Disorder” is the next track. Pontias chooses to use a polyphony as the basis to which he adds a sharp groove, a dragging bass and a synthesizer. The result is a harmonious progression through unusual melodies. I AM JAS’ risky remix takes over, the producer, who kept his profound and organic style tries out the before mentioned polyphony breaking its percussive arpeggio followed by a progression of pads. And lastly, we have the original “A Bit Of You” owner of a decisive pumping bassline that invites us to dance then be blown away by a sweet arpeggio.

Jos & Eli bubbled to attention thanks to interesting releases on Diynamic, Sudbeat and Noir Music, their productions at once striking and beautiful, imbued with a unique energy that’s essential for any signing to Watergate Records.

Both artists are musicians since childhood and their natural talent shines brightly on ‘Mozar’ EP. The title track is driven by a woozy riff which sits atop a chugging bed of drums and seems to capture the stirring energy of their homeland. ‘Atomica’ is similarly unique, with its persistent synth layers, delicate drums and stirring pads, andconjures an otherworldly atmosphere. Respected vocalist Jinadu joins them for ‘One’, a unifying anthem in the making. Nhii and @shyammusic teamed up for the first time to deliver a powerful, moving and at times, dark anthem which has been inspired by mother nature’s cries for help and the current repercussions of a world in which we must change to survive.

Remix duties are supplied by German native @nikoschwind as well as Israeli producer and self professed eternal smiler Jenia Tarsol. Schwind's cut drives forward with a melodic heartbeat and mesmerising vocals that drift across the length and breadth of the release.
