When listening to the melody we perceive intervals, movements in time - disruption. And yet, we perceive it as one continuity driven by our expectance of what is next to come. Our upcoming compilation ‘Intervals’ explores the space of time in between events. Intervals give music its meaning; demarcation that can only be perceived as a trace of itself.

Jorke’s ‘November’ is about another kind of interval - seasons. There is a certain solitude that goes along with German fall. It is a time for Introspection, contemplation and reconnecting with hidden emotions. ‘November‘ expresses this intersubjective experience led by the natural cycle of seasions.

Chameleon #63 is an auditory landscape by súlfur from the friendly circle of the infamous Crépite collective. 

súlfur's set transports the listener to to a place in between the ebb and flow of groove and rupture. Nostalgic emotions meet deep downtempo bass lines. The mix itself becomes a playground of exploration, with an emphasis on sound textures and deep sonorities; a crafted story embodying the mix’s commitment to exploration and connection of opposed forces.

Chameleoncast #69 is a live recording from the infamous sauna floor at the Zugvøgel festival. It is a lush melange of downtempo, minimal, jazz, hip hop, soul, and more. Rhythm and beat connect the dynamic mix of different genres. Transitions from fast to slow and calm to wild come naturally.

“It’s been truly magical to close out the night on the floor, seeing people standing, lying down, swaying, and dancing, having joined me from start to finish on this set. It brings such joy to see dreamy faces turn into broad smiles as my set comes to an end. Washington D.C. based Bamba sent us this set with a little note, describing  the reasons for him to create this mix:
There are a lot of people going through difficult times right now, as it has gotten a lot harder to escape the confrontation with all that ugliness and hate lately. Bamba’s way out was to dream through music. His mix sets hope, that better days will come. It is meant as a reminder that we all are still connected through music and hopefully always will be. 

Bamba crossed our path on the very beginning of chameleoncast. He has always been supporting our mission of releasing slow music in fast times and we are happy that Talpa Rec. has a special place in his heart. He also expresses his love for slow music with his beautiful channel called "Downtempo Rituals".
