Olga Gonzalez Latapi (she/her/hers) is a queer poet with an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts. She has worked with poets like Joseph Lease, who was and remains her mentor, as well as Tonya Foster and Judith Serin. Her voice has been championed by writers like Leslie Carol Roberts, who is the writing program director at California College of the Arts and remains one of her biggest inspirations. She was born under the watchful eye of Frida Kahlo and now she walks surreal roads inside of her mind. She has walked strange roads for twenty-seven years and she looks forward to many more. She started her training in Mexico and journeyed to the United States in search of higher education. She is a graduate of Northwestern University where she earned a BS in Journalism with a minor in English Literature. She thought she wanted to report on the real events of the world, but the worlds inside her mind called with even louder voices. Although her writing journey started in journalism, she is now pursuing her true passion: exploring the world of poetry with a mighty pen in hand and lovely chaos in her heart. Her work has been published in Teen Voices Magazine, Sonder Midwest literary arts magazine, BARNHOUSE Literary Journal (Box of Parrots),  iaam.com and The Nasiona magazine, as well as a handful of school publications in Mexico City and Northwestern. Originally from Mexico City, she currently lives in Toronto.
