In late 2020, in the midst of lock downs and worldwide uncertainty, London based visual artist Weirdcore presented his first solo exhibition, ‘Orient Flux’, at SKP-S in Beijing, supported by Kennedy London. Developed and produced remotely due to travel restrictions, the exhibition spanned 7 interconnecting audio-visual installations forming a ‘train station from the future’, with music and sound design by 33EMYBW and Gooooose. Initially arriving at the ‘Stellar Lounge’, passengers traversed through the ‘Oblique’ security checks, decompress and adjust their bodies for travel in the ‘Microcosmic’ zone, and pass through the ‘Infinity Gates’ and ‘Dimensional Horizon’ to finally board the ‘Trans-Aeon Express’, an illusory bullet train, to embark on a spatio-temporal journey through time.

‘Trans-Aeon Express’ by 33EMYBW and Gooooose is a continuation of this project, with music and sound design from the exhibition, as well as new tracks inspired by and sampling elements/ambience from the various installations. Released on a limited-edition LP, as well as digitally, the album features new artwork by Weirdcore, updating and evolving the original Orient Flux emblem, with graphic design and layout by Luke Griffiths.

Bing & Ruth - We Are on the Side of Angels

Aïsha Devi nurtures an idiosyncratic approach to her music. She describes her sound as Aetherave, and uses bassy-heavy club motifs and intentional aesthetic signifiers to transport listeners to a dizzying, kinetic environment, harnessing timeless frequencies. On each record, Devi has advanced her philosophy and developed her technology; her last album 'DNA Feelings' was a radical hybrid of ancient mysticism and rebellious pop, and 'Death is Home' propels listeners towards the extremes, bending fictile beats and cybernetic textures into transformational songs. This eagerly-awaited new album is a livable, breathable sonic essence that reveals itself alchemically, reorienting anachronistic cultural preconceptions with its contemporary, ornate language and eerie architecture.

'Death is Home' is ultimately a manifesto. It's Devi's most revealing work to date and a direct result of her personal evolution and ongoing quest. Growing up under the shadow of isolation and abuse, she formed her practice as a healing method, using it to neutralize her past and recreate an alternate, more hospitable reality - beyond the human condition. 
Her feelings were compounded when she tracked down the whereabouts of her father B.K. Gurung, a Nepali drummer whom she never knew. Devi was informed he had died young, but rather than perceive this as a binary, through mourning, she realized that his existence had already offered her a lifeline and a refuge. 

Devi's words and productions reach out to a place where weightlessness has the power to dissolve the corporeal world's manufactured terror of death. Without this trepidation, life's boundaries and limitations fall away. "Burn the flesh, a Deva's born," she sings over tense, pneumatic kicks on 'Not Defined by the Visible'. Her voice is contorted by electronic processes, but the meaning is human: to reach the holy, we must shed our skin. The narrative that guides the album unfurls with the plasticity of an open-world videogame, a space where one can unravel the dogma of life vs. death. On 'Lick Your Wounds', Devi reveals her deepest trauma, pacifying it with rousing, ritualistic rhythms and melancholic pads. "Vapors of violence remain in my broken bones, intoxicate my DNA," she invokes. "I'll lick my wounds and heal at night. I'll take over." She extends this invitation to anybody tuned in to her signals, providing lodging for those that crave it. Birth is virtual. Death is home.

Sensuality
Sensuality is a moment captured in a picture I know it when I see it when I'm looking at myself I know it when I see it I'm feeling it does it look like I'm feeling it? Will you tell me if it looks like I'm feeling it?

A debt
I hurt someone so badly and now that I have I'm reminded of the people who have hurt me at the times that they did it was impossible to forgive it wasn't time for forgiveness but now it is I collect the resentment that is owed to me I close my eyes to find instructions to retrace mistakes that should not be repeated I close my eyes and see the one I've hurt successful, assurred, adored and supported

Our Head is Not Our House
If you asked my ghost what it thinks it would tell you that it made a mistake that it never should have chosen such a constrained vessel it stays up high always trying to find an exist it needs more space I need us to be integrated we are so crowded we think our head is our house

Research Stage of Love
I haven't been held in a while I'm needier now than I was last Spring my imagination has chosen a lover my hopes are too high I still let the feeling come when my hopes get too low I trust I'll let the feeling go I'm in the research stage of love assessing what is possible the potential for lasting affection is as great as the potential for crushing rejection my heart is so gullible ignorant and vulnerable and although I'm aware of the risk I'm commitment to following it trying my best to give into it I'm committed to my heart

Waiting as if you should know waiting as if you should already know what my heart has decided for us there's something in here that I want to place outside of myself draw it out like bathwater write it out in a letter maybe I won't even send it maybe I will and it won't even be wanted lightning bolt!
