Recently I've been captivated by progressive breaks, thanks in large part to my friend Nathan who put me on to Framewerk's exclusive Bandcamp releases. Inspired by their amazing "rewerks", I have started building out my library of progressive breaks.

This mix will hopefully be the first in a series of progressive breaks mixes. A little sideproject from my usual blend of deep/progressive house + indie.

I recorded this mix in hospital, only 11 days after major surgery, using rekordbox and a Xone K2 controller. I was exhausted after about 60 minutes, but pushed on to finish the mix. And even though you can feel my energy draining in the back end of the mix, I still thought it was worth sharing. I think it's a great mix!

Finally, given the mix is a prototype for this side project, but it still hits the mark, I thought Sidewinder was a good name. The AIM-9A was the designation for the original prototype of this workhorse missile, and seemed a fitting title.

The first in a series of remixes for Michael Mayer’s latest album The Floor Is Lava comes from one of our favourite artists here at Kompakt HQ: PRIORI. Everything this Montreal-based artist has touched has turned to gold. His reworking of Mayer’s The Solution is certainly no exception. Rightly so, Priori has just been honoured with a Juno Award, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys. Congratulations, Francis!

BIOGRAPHY:
With 13 LPs under his belt, plus over three hundred EPs, with singles on such legendary labels as Harthouse, Superstition, Data Rec, Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi etc. he has been at the forefront of electronic music for 30 years and remixed everyone from stadium-filling acts like Faithless, The Human League, Moby, and Yello to the best up and coming producers in the scene. 
Releasing genre defining music under aliases as L.S.G., Paragliders, S.O.L., The Ambush (to name just a few) and his real name, Oliver has covered the full spectrum of underground techno, house, trance, and ambient sounds, and evolved his own distinctive style and presence that is immediately 
felt with his productions. 

In 1999 Oliver released the Lithium EP by Paragliders on his first own label platform and started to release constantly under his real name on Ministry of Sound’s in-house label Data Rec.

After the label Superstition stopped he re-invented himself in 2005 starting his Techno label Maschine and in 2013 his label Solieb Digital for re-releasing his remastered classics.
 
In late 2017 he re-activated his project L.S.G. with his remix of the 1994 classic Netherworld followed by the double album DOUBLE VISION. Both on Bonzai Rec.

In 2018 Oliver released three more Remix EPs from his new L.S.G. album and returned to 
John Digweed’s Bedrock label with his EPOXI EP, appearances on Bedrock’s XX compilation and John Digweed‘s LIVE IN TOKYO mix CD

He also had his first release on Christian Smith’s label Tronic Music where he released the GONE EP in summer 2018.

Oliver started touring all over the world as a live-act in 1993. He switched to DJ’ing in 1997 as he enjoyed the more direct contact to the audience and rocked some of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world like Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, USA and Canada and all over Europe. 

2018 he played at Luminosity Beach Festival  (NL),  both weekends at Tomorrowland  (BE), 
Ozora Festival (HU) and at legendary FUSE club (BE) to name a few.

PRESENT AND FUTURE
2019 has seen Oliver returning to Tronic Music with an exclusive mix of  his track Tesla on the Rockets -VA Compilation in January followed by his Violet Sky EP that came out late February 
and was featured again on Tronic’s Orbit VA compilation in August.

In late March Oliver returned to Bedrock Records with his brand new Phosphorus EP 

After a short break to finish his new website and re-releasing his last ambient album
Inside Voices on his label Solieb Digital in June, Oliver released a remix of Open Your Mind by Melody’s Enemy in July and his Hiwave EP early September. Both on Sasha Carassi’s Phobiq label

In November he is making his debut on Secret Cinema’s Gem Records label with the Artemis EP.
In December Oliver’s remix of Detection by Frank Biazzi will be out on Tronic  Music.
More music is in the pipeline coming early 2020 including an EP on Spektre’s label Respekt Rec.

With his releases, DJ sets and guest mixes on shows like Transitions, Tronic Radio and GEM FM he continues to cement his position at the cutting edge of contemporary music remaining a true original, a creative force and an inspiration to many.
