Combining jazz, folk and classical music,  expect anything from Michael Nyman and Oliver Nelson to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Paquito D'Rivera (with a few Gaelic psalms and whirling reels along the way).
 
Led by Sue McKenzie (Delphian Records/Salsa Celtica), the Scottish Saxophone Ensemble was formed in 2000 and features some of the best of Scotland’s saxophone talent including Ellie Steemson (Workers Union), Allon Beauvoisin (Brass Jaw) and Michael Brogan (Transgressive North). 
 
The ensemble were hosts of the 16th World Saxophone Congress and their CD, "Mrs Malcolm", is available on iTunes.

 A proposta da banda é fazer uma releitura  moderna e jazzista de “clássicos” da música popular brasileira. A idéia é resgatar e homenagear os compositores brasileiros numa linguagem cool e sofisticada, agradando assim um público
eclético, que vai ouvir músicas muito conhecidas de uma forma inédita
e inesperada, em versões completamente diferentes das originais.
O trabalho é muito adequado para eventos , tanto em sua sonoridade
quanto em sua imagem.

A banda apresenta atualmente 2 shows, “Jazzy 80’s” com releituras jazzistas do rock brasileiro dos anos 80 e “Brazilian Standards” com repertório composto de sucessos de todos os tempos da  musica popular brasileira em versões de jazz.
