“What am I to build, if my hands are broken, if I’m not the chosen one?” sings Steven McKellar of Civil Twilight on “Story of An Immigrant”, over a lush, dynamic beat that evokes the sounds of his native South Africa while steeped in the band’s everevolving present. The foursome (Steven, his brother and guitarist Andrew, drummer Richard Wouters and Kevin Dailey on keys and guitar) are living proof of what happens when you stop worrying about being the chosen one and make music built on both the roots that grew you and the love that keeps you thriving every day. Eat More Cake are an electronic music production duo from Harrow in North-west London, who's ever growing discography has caught the attention of Pete Tong, Oliver Heldens, Tiesto and many more. They are truly multi-talented creatives whose musical skills include songwriting, DJing, rap, piano, guitar, drums and even orchestration; the pair having written and arranged string parts performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. Their track “Heat of the Night” won them fans worldwide after reaching number 1 on Hype Machine and being supported on Radio 1, Kiss FM and Capital Dance. Remixes from Dom Dolla, Tobtok and TCTS, as well as a sync to the Dream League Soccer app, have helped the track reach over 3 million streams on Spotify. A string of follow up singles on Hoxton based label Perfect Havoc as well as remixes for The Knocks and Cedric Gervais have seen the duo appear numerous times on New Music Friday UK and amass over 26 million Spotify streams in total.
