With an album under her belt, a single that charted top 30 on Canadian radio, and a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for her original track, “Fight For You,” it's safe to say that 15 year old Olivia Penalva has accomplished more than most people twice her age.  A subtle mix of that beachy Colbie Caillat vibe and melodic Norah Jones vocals, with a distinct pop twist, she's found a sound that resonated with her listeners. 

Her first single “Ferris Wheel” off of her new project produced by Brian West, (Nelly Furtado, K’naan, Maroon 5) is a sugary pop, summer anthem.  “Ferris Wheel.” radiates summer vibes, right down to the pulsing beat, Olivia’s bubbly vocals shimmer alongside the flowery synths and breathy harmonies. The feel good, rhythmically focused lyrics build a memory of refreshing moments spent in the sun with friends, as Olivia croons “a California sky filled with red balloons, my best friends in the photobooth, wind in my hair and the radio playing and everyone saying ‘what a beautiful day.’” The young talent brings her bright, carefree personality to this beautiful mix of pop tranquility, while showcasing her unique songwriters’ aesthetic at the very same time.

With her latest single “Ex’s,” Olivia Penalva continues to show why she is Canada’s latest pop sensation. Since releasing her debut single at the age of 13, the British Columbia native has steadily grown into an all-around artist and a genuine force within the global pop scene over the past decade.

For proof, just look to her October 2020 single “Love Me,” a certified radio hit that racked up over 38 million TikTok views, on top of over 7 millions YouTube views. She is owner of Isabelle Music Group and has recently signed to Decoded Music Group/Virgin Music. Olivia is poised to top that with “Ex’s,” as its sultry R&B vibes further display her artistic evolution. Having had the record mixed by Josh Gudwin (Justin Bieber) you are in for a real treat! 
 
Olivia has never had a problem revealing herself through her music, whether that’s meant showing off her confidence and sense of humour, or exposing her vulnerability and insecurity.
