On September 29th 2014 two of house music’s rising stars Josh Butler & Bontan collaborate for the very first time to deliver ‘We Found A Place’, a future classic featuring the outstanding vocals of Josh Barry on MTA.
 
This sublime new single sees both artists return to the label after the run-a-way success of last year’s highly acclaimed Ibiza anthem Josh Butler ‘Got A Feeling’ (Bontan remix), which went on to become a huge international hit and helped propel both artists onto the world stage.
 
‘We Found A Place’ is a fine follow-up with it’s addictive Jackin’ house groove, lush organ stabs and warm soulful vocals all combing to make this quality track a cut above the rest.

Noir may well have delivered his best and most critically-acclaimed work to date with 'Angel', the pulsating collaboration with Hayze that led to a number one on Beatport earlier this year. 

As well as producing tracks of that ilk, the Danish producer is lauded as a label boss, responsible in part for the success achieved by the likes of Hot Since 82 and Finnebassen on Noir Music.

2015 has been a good year for Olivier Tunier, arguably one of the re-edit scene's most under-appreciated scalpel specialists. Having already unleashed fine EPs on Whiskey Disco, Phat Elephant and Hot Digits, the Amsterdam-based producer delivers another cracking quartet of reworks on Midnight Riot. As usual, he touches on a number of styles, moving from the percussive, strobe-lit disco hustle of the superb "Get Up", to the straightened-out Caribbean disco grooves of "Reggae Tempo", via the dense tropical percussion, jaunty horns and sweet Brazilian vocals of "Um Ba Yao". Best of all, though, is "Yes I Know My Way", a blinding blast of audio sunshine blessed with breezy piano hooks, impassioned blue-eyed soul vocals and deliciously swinging beats.

Another addition to this series of edits. I was looping the start of Golden Lady at a gig recently and mixing it with something off Keep Up and it seemed like the right thing to do.

I love this track deeply so I hope you will forgive me chopping it - it is honestly done with love. Nothing could improve the original - I was simply taking it somewhere else for DJing purposes. x

Well on the 25th Anniversary of this classic album they re-released it and in there was a version with just bass and vocals of this wonderpiece. 

The bass of Bakithi Kumalo is INCREDIBLE and deserves more notice. Although I'm not sure a dancefloor can sustain their interest for 5-6 minutes of bass and no beats - so I'm providing you with this educational re-edit. Enjoy in your more Balearic moments.

Für ihren nächsten Törn hat die Crew von Acker Records eine polnische Skipperin angeheuert, die den exotischen Namen An On Bast trägt. Mit heiterer Leichtigkeit steuert sie „Seaman With A Lap Dog“ durch die schweren, wogenden Subfrequenzen, angefeuert vom hypnotischen Ruf der Seeleute. Für das minimale „Everything Is Possible“ navigiert sie entlang einer dichten Wand aus brummendem Bass, im mysteriösen Zwielicht zeichnen sich geisterhafte Klangfiguren ab. Nach einer schwungvollen Wende übergibt die Fahrensfrau das Ruder an Mollono.Bass, der seinen Remix zu „Seaman With A Lap Dog“ unter straffer rhythmischer Takelage in einen geheimnisvollen Melodienebel manövriert. Und die Fahrt ist noch nicht zu Ende: Für die gemächliche Passage durch das surreale Bermuda-Dreieck der Klänge übernimmt erneut An On Bast das Kommando. So endet die Reise mit „Ferret Stories“ da, wo sie begonnen hat: In Aufbruchstimmung und mit Fernweh.

For their next cruise, the crew of Acker Records signed on a female Polish skipper with the exotic name An On Bast. Encouraged by the hypnotic chant of the sailors, she navigates “Seaman With A Lap Dog” trough the heavy, rolling waves of sub frequencies just as easy and joyful as if it was a Sunday stroll. For the minimal groove of “Everything Is Possible” she goes straight along a dense wall of humming bass, ghostly sound silhouettes appearing in the mysterious twilight. After a snappy turn she leaves the helm to Mollono.Bass. For his remix of “Seaman With A Lap Dog” this buccaneer rigs the track with tight rhythms and navigates into a melodic, glowing bank of fog. This is not yet the end of the cruise: An On Bast hoists the flag once again and heads towards the surreal Bermuda triangle of sounds. In this way, the unhurried “Ferret Stories” bring the journey to an end just where it has started: In a mood of departure and wanderlust.

Olivier is a dj / producer from Amsterdam. Triggered by countless hip-hop mixtapes on cassette and VHS tapes full of scratch battles, Olivier bought a set of turntables and started collecting records in 1999. After the vibrant Amsterdam night life introduced him to soul, house and disco music, he broadened his horizons and Olivier became Oliver Boogie.

He won a place at the Red Bull Music Academy, released a slew of records on labels as Rush Hour, Lumberjacks In Hell and Whiskey Disco a.o., played shows around the world - from New York to London and from Prague to Vilnius - and has enjoyed residencies at numerous clubs in Amsterdam alongside a regular slot on Red Light Radio.
