Rain is one of the magical sounds of nature. It creates beautiful clouds of sound. Sometimes just noise and then there are these moments of pure natural music.

It took me almost a year to collect the collection of recordings you're about to listen to. For me as a recordist it was one of the most difficult projects ever. Recording raindrops without them being audible when hitting the microphones. Keeping your gear up and running in very humid conditions for a long time. 
In the end I'm proud to present this collection to you as an audience. Take your time to enjoy 75 minutes of rain in very different conditions and landscapes.

With a background in Art and Culture. I have over 20 years of experience in capturing in- and outdoor soundscapes. Using a wide variety of (unusual) microphones and equipment. Since autumn 2009 I am involved in a wide variety of media productions. Ranging from Film, ENG, documentary to commercial.
As a sound recordist with a passionate ear I'm trying to not only capture a clean dialog but also all the tiny details to enhance a production and make it a real Olivier Nijs soundtrack.
