meka, the musical project of Melissa Lingo, blends introspective indie folk with intricate fingerpicking influenced by Nick Drake and Vashti Bunyan. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, meka explores themes of grief, hope, and nature. Raised in a mountain town dedicated to astronomy, her music reflects a fascination with the cosmos and ecology, shaped by travel and solitude. From his home town of Exeter, U.K. Ambient Indie-Folk artist Ollie Dixon creates beautiful, distinctive soundscapes, rich in limitless imagery and lyrical introspection which is pure musical escapism.  This is explored further within his music videos, cover artwork and merchandise which depict the visual inspiration behind his music, the landscape, towns and coastlines he considers home.

Since first appearing on the scene in the early 2020s Ollie has continued to impress. His music is regularly featured on BBC Introducing In the South and West including twice making ‘Upload of the Week’ and has been selected by Absolute Radio as their ‘Self Released Artist of the Month’.  In 2024 he received U.K. Arts Council backing for the creation of his latest EP ‘ Rebirth’ set to be released through 2025.

The leadout single from the EP ‘Byegone’ has been included on ‘The A List’ new music playlists on Amazing Radio and reached number 2 in the Amazing Radio New Music Chart.  New single ‘Solace’ has made the UKs Amazing Radio and Future Hits Radio ‘A-list’ and in April 2025 trended worldwide on Soundcloud hitting the number 1 spot on the platforms folk trending playlists.

Both Solace and Byegone have had plays on BBC Radio Devon, Cornwall, BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Introducing South West and Solace has been featured by Fresh On The Net on their Fresh Faves list.

Singles ‘St Agnes’ and ‘Harbour’ featured on Spotify’s Editorial playlists ‘Fresh Finds Folk and New Music Friday and ‘Harbour’ was selected by Fresh On The Net as one of their top 10 tracks, secured a number 1 in the iTunes chart in Norway, The Netherlands and selected by BBC Introducing in the South West as their ‘Hotly Tipped’ track of the week.

Since selling out a debut headline show at the Exeter Cavern at the end of 2023, Ollie has continued to tour the U.K and Ireland, with a number of sold out live performances including headline shows in Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, London, Brighton, Bristol and Cornwall.  He has secured support slots for a number of international artists including Steph Strings, Max Pope and Jack Botts, played at a number of the U.K. festivals including Boardmasters, Between the Trees and Oceanfest and headlined shows for Sofar Sounds Bristol and Belfast.
