The last time I went to a club was in February 2020. Nearly 18 months later, I'm able to return to a venue and my word I'm excited.

I've spent a lot of time listening to music for the club. This mix is a snapshot of that, and so I hope it gets you in the mood to return to music venues very soon.

At Field Maneuvers 2023, Optimo (Espacio) played the final set in the Sputnik tent as part of the Watching Trees takeover. "We expected everyone to be on their final reserves of energy," they said. "But it was instantly apparent that there was electric energy in the tent. It ended up being one of the most joyous, life-affirming gigs of [the year]."

I was thinking about all the long waits in line for Burning Man tickets over the years and decided to give some of you something to listen to while the walking person icon slowly makes its way across the screen holding all our hopes in its little tiny pixel hands. 

The wait time  is usually about as long as it took to get from one side of the playa to the other last year after it rained and the playa shrimp rose up to attempt to take over the world!! 

Burning Mud. Mudding man. Raining man. Remember the wild stories (all from the outside media or Diplo and Chris Rock) vs the kindness and generosity of strangers out on the playa. I hope, even if faced with adversity last year, maybe, just maybe, you also saw how wonderful people can be when called upon in a ‘crisis’. 

I was lucky enough to stay until Tuesday night and grateful to still get to play a sunrise on the Robot Heart albeit a few days later than planned. There was so much love in the air that (finally) beautiful morning. If you missed it or want to listen once more or are just bored and looking for something to distract you while waiting in line for this years tickets (I’ll be waiting too) then here’s burning man/mud/magic 2023.  Feel the love in the air and the tickle of playa shrimp on the soles of your feet.

one of the things I love most about running is being able to get my head into a mix. the main reason being is that the tempo is always consistent, and what else is there to do on a long run than transport yourself to Laurent Garnier at Time Warp or Âme at Output?

I then landed on the idea of putting my own mix together for the London Marathon. I'd been playing around in my head for a while the sort of thing I wanted to do, so when it came to recording it I decided to keep it to a lower BPM and stick to a consistent groove.

I therefore present you the Marathon Mix. a 3 hour journey that finishes up with one of my favourite records of all time. of course there are a couple of bumps along the way, but that comes with pushing the mix. I hope you enjoy!
