I know I should have used something algorithmic, like VCV Rack, but it’s Sunday night and time was getting short. It is also quite a pain to notate in iOS, so I thought I’d use Logic for a change.
   Spanish was the chosen scale with F, G, G#, A#, C, C#, E and F, and although this was chosen with the intent of ascending and descending the scale, I changed it up as things progressed. A two bar eight note melody began with A#2, G2, C3, G#2, C3, A#2, G#2 and G2. The prompt instructions were continued as suggested but then something bad happened :-O  The more I played and the more I organized notes, the more this piece killed the original intent of the prompt. But rest assured dear reader, the piece only contains those original eight notes and they are more or less in some semblance of sound.
   Logic has so many great instruments sometimes it hard to choose and ended up with more instruments than usual. Sculpture provided scatter, reflective, plastic, glass, air and water sounds. Alchemy provided odd, dark and deep bass sounds. Bit of volume automation and Chroma verb are the only additions in the mix.

Vincent van Gogh passed away July 29th, 1890,
“Vincent’s Letter” was released July 29th, 2020

I figured there’s no better time than 130 years later…

When I was very young, I had dreams about his paintings. 
 His paintings inspired a deep love in me for art at an early age, and I wanted to be a painter like him

 Music won me over, but I remember being about 10 or so - when I first started playing music a lot - and I promised this self-portrait painting of Van Gogh that I’d write a song (or several) for him that a lot of people would hear.  Yea I made a verbal promise to a painting.  
It wasn’t the first or last time...  I was a weird kid.

The funny thing is?  This isn't even Van Gogh, as I much later found out.  It's "Dr. Gatchet", who was a physician who was treating Van Gogh.  Vincent painted him, and they actually look a lot alike!  But I made the promise to this painting, so here it is
