Inspired by the word Sefela — a Sepedi term from South Africa, where the language is spoken among communities in the country’s northern regions. In its essence, Sefela means a communal stage or song — a space where people gather to share rhythm, story, and soul.

Born in South Africa and open to the world, Sefela Sessions celebrates and supports local, often undiscovered talent, sharing their sounds and stories with a global audience.

Capturing the raw beauty of authentic creative expression — from heartfelt music and poetry to spontaneous jams and soulful performances. Whether recorded on the road, in makeshift studios, or during spontaneous gatherings, each session reflects the energy and spirit of real, unfiltered artistry.

Ira takes-on many roles in the music and creative spheres.

Not just about spinning records—Ira also gets involved in technical/visual design and music direction, helping teams to piece together well-rounded shows. His varied style has earned him spots on some of Manila's respected stages, like Fete De La Musique, XX XX, 20:20, and Nokal. He’s also brought energy to various beach destination festivals all over the Philippines.

Ira has since explored neighboring dancefloors in the region, bringing his unique blend of electronic music to a wider audience.

Whether he’s DJing, or working on visuals, Ira aligns his art and sound in a way that leaves a lasting impression on those who experience his work.
