Lune Demi Aile - SemiFull Soft (03.05.24)

In the beginning of the year, my old friend the Duke from Nation Records asked me to participate to his annual online gathering "Unlimited Nation", a reunion of music heads enthusiasts. 
I didn't had the chance to participate in the past, and I was really happy to be able to do it this time, but bad luck, due to a technical fiasco issue (I didn't prepared well for the online streaming), my set couldn't be streamed in the ideal conditions and we had to give it a term (at least people get a lot of fun seeing me taking the full storm from the duke ;D)))... 
Full of frustration after leaving the connection I decided to record it again, straight away, so here it is, a 2h selection of stuff that I have been playing in the past... it's raw, recorded in one take, mixed with a bunch of vinyls and 2x mk2 and xone 42 mixer at the studio of my friends Doo and Ogi in Belgrade, thanks to them for the hospitality.

We've been waiting for this day for a very, very long time! Let me present to your attention the mix from one of our favorite selectors - master Matthias Orsett. A personality of many talents - the man behind the incredible label Décalé Records (@decalerecords along with @maxxi-fischer of course), a new wave agronomist and winemaker, and an incredibly talented DJ and radio host (check outstanding Feng Shit show at LYL Radio)! This is your front-row ticket to the world's coolest Jamaican sound system, get on board of the Zion train, because the journey begins! Сhoo-Choo!

"This three-hour mix is a tribute to the Roots fi Disco crew, very dear friends I have since high school. At that time they had this home-made soundsystem project I was hosting in my basement. This was all about spreading reggae music out loud and wherever possible, in the spirit of famous soundsystem like Stereo Mars or Kilimanjaro.
24/7 eBay bidding to get first jamaican presses or, even better, dubplates, the goal was to jump on everything. This was my first experience into heavy record digging. We were regularly going to Dub Station parties at Le Trabendo, in Paris, where we saw Iration Steppas, Jah Shaka, Aba-Shanti-I, among others and it's where dub got me, the body shacking front of the super strong subwoofers of those legends.
The invitation from De Kat Memwa was an opportunity for me to go back to all those nice memories and records I captured over the last decade. In the tradition of the Roots Fi Disco, I mostly focused on 70s and 80s including rubadub, dancehall and rocksteady, exploring classic reggae themes like romancing and dancing but also inequality and justice, still so curent those days. It includes superstars like Alton Ellis or Michael Prophet but also less known artists like Sheila Hylton and Ranking Ann. This is mostly a very personal selection of what I love the most in reggae. Hope you'll enjoy as much I did while preparing it!"

Animés par une volonté de créer un lien social illimité en partageant une vision syncrétique de la culture, le label et collectif Olo Yegussa s’est lancé dans une quête d’exploration libre, à la recherche d’une émotion.
Ainsi grâce à une ligne artistique débridée, le temps et l’espace se confondent, rendant nos repaires vaporeux, afin de laisser place à une expérience atypique.
Olo Yegussa c’est donc un appel à l’explorateur, au curieux, qui sommeille en chacun de nous et qui désire s’aventurer dans l’horizon pour y construire une nouvelle histoire.

Hommage à l'œuvre de Günther Anders, olo et yegussa en sont les principaux protagonistes. Dans un monde dystopique en perte de droits et de liberté, ils sont les créateurs et l'incarnation de la transmission de savoir et d'espoir...
