Main Street Killing Fields / Sick of It

9:30pm, 4th of July, 2022
Dark, passing thunderstorms
What I felt.

Feeling unsettled, uncelebratory, 
lonely, unfocused, 
anxious about the future of life, 
about this nation's state.

Feelings reflected in the low grinding clouds of dark storms crawling 
over the distant city skyline,
lighting bolts, cloud flashes, 
attacking, slashing,
murky rain squelching fireworks displays.

They tried, but who was watching anyway? The finale, doused somewhere in rain cloud, 
puny compared to nature's violent power, 
No f*cks given for our human world.

No f*ks given for our pathetic society, 
sick with self hatred, other-hatred, 
tearing itself apart 
because some sick mofos 
can't think for their hate and rage.

The sickness in the soul, 
fear and loathing the voice 
driving their insane self-dealt right 
to kill, destroy, tear down 
some other person's life. 
Not people. Objects. Targets. 

F*king amendment. Supreme f*kups.
Foolish desperate clinging to anachronistic words, historical flukes, 
to justify hate-filled headfuls 
of deluded imaginings already in place,
only needing an imprimatur, 
a holier, truer, better than thou fantasy 
from the mists of a different time.

So sick of what this Place has become
so sick of the killing, the mayhem, 
the apathy, the inaction.
Lying liars making excuses,
Accepting slaughter for sake of cash?

Sick of regression, 
spit-filled reactionaries 
hate your type of freedoms, 
their liberties don't feel complete
when you don't agree.
Sick of it.

930PM 4th Of July Stormy - Main St Killing Fields Instrumental 7 - 7-22

I’m always on the hunt for vintage, psychedelic tracks.
This one — if I had to put it into words — carries a faint trace of the ‘80s. But it’s not about nostalgia.
It’s rooted in my love for dub, layered over breakbeats with a post-rock spirit, and driven by a sharp electronic edge.

It’s like New Order suddenly crashing into a session, and the Bristol crew getting into a brawl right then and there.
Chaotic, yes — but a chaos with intent. Noise with direction.

My music is instrumental. I don’t use vocals.
That doesn’t mean I don’t respect them — on the contrary, I hold vocalists and lyricists in the highest regard.
But the story I want to tell doesn’t need words.
I speak through melodies, I scream through beats, and I question through silence.
That’s my form of storytelling.

I know this track might not be easy to grasp right away.
But if you’re into krautrock, post-rock, alternative, hip-hop, IDM, or experimental electronic music —
you just might find something in it that resonates with you.

I’m Japanese.
And I believe there’s something compelling about how a Japanese mind interprets psychedelic sound.
Maybe not as wildly unhinged as Damo Suzuki’s work with Can,
but this is my own vision of a sonic trip — one that’s more grounded, yet still deeply exploratory.

The result is this track,
ironically named — Classy Slang.

If you give it a listen, I’d be honored.
Come take a journey through my world, told entirely through sound.

The shadow of UK new wave, the depth of roots dub.
Guitar filtered through Tommy Guerrero, broken beats from IDM.
The origin: hip-hop. The destination: undefined.

Progressing like post-rock, sinking into lo-fi.
A quiet homage to New Order, Boards of Canada, and Madlib.

“Dying Lumen (Flickering Hope)”
A slow descent into dimness—where light still exists, but only as memory.
The piece unfolds like a shadow stretching across time, carried by deep, sustained tones and barely-there harmonics.
There is no climax. Only the gentle unraveling of something once certain.
What remains is a feeling: not absence, but the fading trace of presence. A mournful hush, suspended in sound.

this song  is partly a tribute to actor, singer, dancer, artist, and author Russ Tamblyn, who turns 91 in December.
I wrote the song around the time I retired from my  medical career. So  along with references to  Russ and childhood memory, there are veiled allusions to this strange  new exciting but a bit unsettling life circumstance in the lyric.
As per Russ 
He danced and acted in Westside story  and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers most famously but was in a bunch of movies in the 50s and 60s.. and ....my favourite as a kid was the War of the Gargantuas, which  for Russ was a creative low point ..but  it got him to Japan

Living Jewels *

One of those back burner incomplete songs that I started writing back in 2018 timeframe. Pulled it out awhile back and things started to flow, crazy how that happens. Made some changes with the melody, and added a few new lyrics, which were inspired from events of this past year. Trials make us stronger.
