Lagos Through Your Bedroom Window - A Soothing African Sleep Story

This poem went into unexpected places in my heart, and performing it broke me into beautiful pieces. 

It was a brief from a wonderful writer and poet. I sat with her to get into her vision for the poem. Yet, it became really personal while I performed it. As a spiritual and religious person, I had been questioning the emptiness of my religious practices. And like many others, I felt unworthy of the love of an amazing God. This poem made me realise that God specifically created and loved me FOR my imperfections and questions. I struggled to keep myself from crying while performing, and after, my heart felt so full. This poem was a gift that I am glad I got to experience. I hope it opens you in beautiful ways too.
