Deep Heads are proud to present ‘minty’ from new signee to the label, the nice planet.
The single release marks the 2nd drop from the forthcoming EP ‘solar ride’ that is due out December 1st, 2023.

‘Minty’ crosses a few different genres, with Ambient, Electronic & Downtempo influences all melding together to create a truly unique production of music. It starts with captivating pads that wrap the entire recording throughout and sets the tone for a deeply immersive experience. The drums hit hard, but still keep a very chilled and downtempo feel to the recording and keeps you locked in and engaged.
Sitting at 105 bpm and with an abundance of floaty frequencies, the track is a true masterpiece and a brilliant display of what this artist is all about.

‘I originally started the track to be a straight-up ambient piece and was originally a beatless production for a long time as I was creating. I then decided to add the drums and felt I couldn’t turn back into a beatless production after this.
It’s a track I really enjoyed creating and is my personal favourite from the EP.

Underground hero and label boss DJ Steaw makes his Nu Groove debut with ‘Seascape EP’, a four-track odyssey of deep, soulful house. With over 12 years of experience, the revered DJ and producer is known for his arresting sets appearing on famed stages including Berlin's Tresor, London's fabric, Amsterdam's Shelter and all over his home nation of France.

As an electronic tastemaker spanning multiple genres and influences, DJ Steaw has launched House Puff Records, Steaward and Rutilance Records, the latter of which he co-founded with crate digger Gunnter. Having already received support from tastemaker Chris Stussy, this four-track package is a perfect fit for the cult NYC label. Opening with the powerful stabs of ‘Take It There’, ‘Seascape EP’ explores the producer’s signature, bass-heavy sound as well as the myriad of influences from further afield. The title track ‘Seascape’ contrasts breathy pads with bright, dynamic percussion, as ‘Close To You’ and ‘Exotica’ further demonstrate a recognisable, nostalgic aesthetic that is both club-ready and dreamlike in quality.

True child of the soulseek generation, @pura_pura 's roots crawl deep into juke and footwork, via Miami bass, gangsta rap and bass-loaded contemporary club. Currently one of France’s fastest rising beatmaker, this daredevil drops bangers-only sets over the country as well as regular appearances on Rinse and Pinata Radio, always spiced with his hyper club edits of Ice Spice to Kraftwerk via Yussef Dayes.

Using soundscapes and noises recorded on his iPhone between his flat and music studio in Montpellier, these 5 tunes are shaped around a particular time of a contemporary club night, from punchy house to peak time breaks. This for-the-club release is Pura Pura’s debut on Global Warming Records, and an obvious connection from people who love building constant bridges between UK and France.

Astropolis Records' DÔME sub-label is once again celebrating artists from the west of France with its 9th EP! With downtempo dubby, IDM and deconstructed rhythms, ravy and trancy club music, and shimmering electro grooves, the release smells Astropolis next edition vibes with this multi-faceted journey including tracks by Cwtch, Too Smooth Christ, Gneiss and Slow Dimension.

With ‘Dawnfall’, Rennes-based duo Cwtch (ratio/club), bringing together Pal Parallax and Fallen Tape, plunge us into a high-voltage IDM, in a chiaroscuro universe of deep sound design.

The second track is by Too Smooth Christ (Nocta Numerica, Kalahari Oyster Cult, mule musiq), a Finistère native with a love of vintage synths and original electro. Somewhere between analogue house and electro balladry, ‘Forbidden Bubblegum’ smacks of the joys of open-air bouncing and summer nostalgia.

Brest-based producer Gneiss slips us into a night-time party with ‘Capybaras Nebulae’. A ravy and trancy anthem tinged with progressive and shamanic atmospheres, with its acid line. A fine blend of contemporary club culture, reflecting his many influences.

The EP closes with the melancholy dub techno of Lou Berlinger aka Slow Dimension from Nantes, on ‘Tesla’, where organic sounds blend with catchy percussive sonorities in a luminous universe.

These tracks are out-takes from my first alum Seven Lies. Those familiar with my music will know that I love a coda. A coda is a passage at the end of a piece of music that brings it to a conclusion. I often use a coda as a way of framing the piece in a slightly different context than it would otherwise end. Like a musical aftertaste. When I was working on Seven Lies I made codas for several tracks but I was never completely happy with these two so they didn't make it on to the album.

As I work on my second album I have been looking back at the process I went through for my first alum and remembered these outtakes. They're not so bad after all. Perhaps they are worth airing to the world. I hope you enjoy them, or at least find them an interesting insight into the workings behind the music.

Dropping more than 2 years after his debut on the imprint, Tom VR’s latest & third record on ‘all my thoughts’ is a 3 track showcase of his evolving style of thoughtful club music. The Manchester-based producer, DJ & label-head introduces the EP with title-track ‘Acheless’ - which fuses arpeggios, visceral pads & glitched-out garage percussion into a euphoric club cut.

‘It Swims Here’, begins with twinkling synth lines before emerging as a hypnotic house track crafted for the final half-hour on the dance-floor with dreamy vocals and whispers weaved throughout. The fast-paced ‘Couldn’t Find The Words’ sets the mood for post-rave reminiscing, blending analog synth bleeps, dubby chords & breathy gasps into a tightly-wound introspective minimal track.
