Omar Hossino is a Syrian American political analyst. He used to work as a researcher for the Carnegie Endowment for international Peace other think tanks and has have been published on the Syrian conflict in Foreign Policy, the Atlantic Council, Carnegie, and other outlets. He has specialized in the Assad regime and opposition's relationship with Syria's minority communities has written reports for the Henry Jackson Society on Syria's Kurds and a series on the relationship between Syria's minorities and the opposition for Syria Deeply. He has appeared before on PBS Newshour, Al-Jazeera English, NPR and other outlets and has been quoted in the New York Times, Associated Press, and others. He holds a J.D. in law concentrating on comparative constitutional law from Catholic University and a M.A. in foreign policy with a concentration on counterterrorism at American University.
