dj sets

Next on our series we welcome oma totem @omatotem straight out of Barcelona. The legend himself has been playing dj sets for a some years now which vary to dynamic live sets which has gained him bookings at top festivals and clubs around Europe. He is positioned more dance-oriented and leftield electronic with performances at De School, MUTEK and MiRA Festivals, amongst others. In 2023 he released his first ep- exercicis ritmics on Hivern discs, and very soon another EP will be released on Kalahari Oyster Cult. We are very excited to have him curate this deep progressive & experimental mix for us... 

Interview below....

1. How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
''I'm just realizing now that it will be soon 10 years since i started to try Ableton and djing. It was due to the great moments i had going to concerts and clubs around 18, moving to Barcelona with friends.''

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you’ve been to or experienced and why?
'' Doing two live sets from different projects at de school for one eye witness night. Full circle moment as I lived briefly in Amsterdam exactly the year that de school opened and that's when I met Colin and we became good friends.''

3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the music scene?
''mmhh in the middle - i love to collaborate and meet new people but I also don't want to disturb anyone from their thing.''

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
''cant say but guess any frank ocean ....''

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to? 🙂

''I always try smoke a joint 🙂 but its cool if not. Also my confidence when making music is always changing so my way of approaching it too.''
