Hard Work is the first release on Industria, Robi Insinna’s brand new project label.

Back in 2001 Robi Insinna founded the seminal Relish label in direct response to a thendominant sound in club music. Its catalogue is as vast as it is varied and foreshadowing the music he'd go on to make himself under Headman/Manhead. Fast forward to 2018 and after more than a decade he's on the move again launching new Project label, Industria with 'not quite an album, not quite an EP, Hard Work. Robi felt there was no reason to split projects the way he did with his aliases and as such the debut will be released under Robi's own name.

Industria will be focused more on vinyl releases, but not solely vinyl. The project will encompass all area's of Robi's work and ties together elements of his art and visual design projects. This release is limited to 200 copies, 50 of them will feature a special Artwork, that will be sold in
selected places.

Merging Robi's disco leanings with an opiate smooth, stoned groove the title track Hard Work opens proceedings and heads immediately for the dancefloor dragging its hushed vocals and skewed guitar line kicking and screaming with it. The dub rolls in next further stretching and twisting the guitar and giving the rhythm more space to swing. It most of all draws from the sense of outsider-disco fun, with the sound of stuttering percussion, a wry smile, and a knowing wink running throughout. Düsseldorf Krautrockers Die Wilde Jagd take over remix duties on the third track of the A side and cast Hard Work off into unfamiliar and experimental territory, using bright synth splashes,
squashed vocal samples and a pulsing rhythm to wrestle the groove and growling sense of menace out of the track.
Side 2 kicks things off with Some Believe coming to life with arpeggio'd synth shapes and brutish drums. The overall feel, however, suggests considerable care and attention has been paid to make it sound this way. There's clearly an uncommon musicality at play here to make something this complex feel so simple. The BPM drops next on The Kiss but from the offset, there's enough funk and thrust in the
motorised synth line to get bodies gently grooving without the beauty getting lost in the slower
loop. A dramatic bass leads and a xylophone playing a nervous but euphoric melody follows. It's glassy mallets pinging atop the warm electronics creating a fresh groove. Closing track Oct17 rounds off the record and puts an ever more personal spin on retro analogue
sounds with synths and drummachines . A razor-sharp snare fires against the bassline and what sounds like a sliced vocal loop before these elements settle into a more measured thrust with the
undulating synth tones offset by funkier ingredients. This is a record that doesn't have its eyes fixed on past glories but references all the element that made Robi's previous work so special. Hard Work sounds like it's here to freshen up 2018. It's music that leaves scorch marks and smoulders. It is the sound of our very own, very recent times.

For our 101st catalogue number, we're presenting something quite special. Our Norse sweethearts and Connaisseur regulars Of Norway have developed a two-part concept - 101a and 101a - each part containing two tracks, created under a mutual topic.
The first part of the 101 concepts is all about the self recorded "Dance To The Drums“ sample, around which Of Norway has built two different track versions.

Dance To The Drums (Disco Volante Version) is Of Norway’s take on a Disco variety with a strong Italian feel. References to Italo Disco, with only a subtle electro injection dominate this highly energy-driven track. It is a bit reminiscent of the early noughties productions by artists like Francisco, Riders of the lost ARP or Marco Passarani as Analogue Fingerprints. We absolutely expect this to be a sure shot for the summer season of 2019. On this track, the boys were supported by Marius Haraldsen with his live bass and guitar.
Dance To The Drums (Bittersweet Robots Version)  on the other hand, takes onto the "Dance To The Drums“ sample completely differently, by putting it into a rather electro setting. It has more of a UK than a US touch, choosing futuristic sounds and proving again, that Of Norway are masters of extremely beautiful melodies. A perfect counterpart to the intense Disco version.

01 Dance To The Drums (Disco Volante  Version) (Snippet)

French DJ/producer Darlyn Vlys delivers a stunning new EP of indie disco for the latest installment on Roam Recordings. With an excellent catalogue of releases on labels such as Get Physical, My Favorite Robot, Sincopat, and recently with the huge success of Runner on Polymath and Horse on Atlant, Darlyn Vlys has become a sought after artist on the rise. For his EP on Roam, Darlyn Vlys offers two new original works. The title track - Bladed - sets the mood with stylish vocals and guitar stabs that hit all the right places. Neo Noir brings the tempo up while keeping the lush soundscape found throughout the EP.  Backing up the originals are two incredible and diverse remixes by Kiwi and Pardon Moi. Kiwi moves Neo Noir in a smooth dreamy direction while Pardon Moi remakes Bladed into full on 80s Italo anthem.

Frankey & Sandrino have been staples on labels like Innervisions, Mule Musiq and Drumpoet Community since their partnership first yielded fresh fruits back in 2010.  Delicate electronics bubble, and icy melodies float over ‘Mira’s spacey aura, bringing together elements of 90s IDM and minimal techno in a refreshing way.  On ‘Naos’, a chugging groove and Italo inspired bassline unfolds to expose a transcendental lead line and a cosmic semblance that’s as infectious as it is irresistible.  

Cin Cin founder, Fort Romeau, delivers two cuts on home turf, teaming up with Jas Shaw (one half of Brit electronic duo, Simian Mobile Disco, and currently releasing solo material as part of his Exquisite Cops series) for a brace of deep, intergalactic tracks.  ‘Saturn Ascends’ is a space age, acid romance, whilst ‘Voices [no.III]’ offers up a more spirited piece, with lively percussion and a flitting tonal riff that is teased and tweaked through the space echo for good measure.

Family duo Simple Symmetry make their return to Moscoman's Disco Halal imprint for a fresh four-track EP titled 'Gilgamesh'. Drawing inspiration from the epic novel of the same name (the oldest story known to man), the Russian brothers succeed once again in bringing a new method of electronic mysticism to clubland.

Ahead of the EP's release on July 5, Simple Symmetry has handed over the cut 'Enkidu' - a fluid and shamanistic dancefloor enchantment named after Gilgamesh’s faithful sidekick.

Summer's in the air, and with impeccable timing, @bawrut returns with his fourth EP for @ransom-note-records! From ‘Ciquita’ to ‘Rumba’ to ‘Three Sounds’, the wizard from Madrid has been providing DJs with off-kilter dance floor ammunition for years now.

Out 13th September on 12” and digital, the Pronto Arpeggio EP is arguably Bawrut’s biggest and best collection to date. It’s certainly his silliest, kicking things off with a frankly absurd title track which you can stream below. Clocking in at almost 11 minutes, ‘Pronto Arpeggio’ is a prog techno labyrinth of fakeouts, tempo switches, thwacking kickdrums, and huge synths like if Giorgio Moroder did the music for Tomorrow’s World. So yeah, not your average mid-set toilet break tool (although if you want to use it for that, we won’t judge you).

When it came to the remixes, we thought it was only right to enlist two of Bawrut’s biggest supporters. KiNK chisels ‘Pronto Arpeggio’ into a lean slab of high-velocity machine funk, while Ruf Dug teases out a gentler side of the slow-burn acid weapon ‘Shooreee’, resulting in a melodic track that feels tailor-made made for Mediterranean sunsets.

Bawrut absolutely ruled the festivals in 2018 with ‘More Cowbell’ and we’re hoping for more of the same this year as he continues to go from strength to strength. Forza!

Following his contribution to Permanent Vacation's annual V.A. compilation, Cómeme mainstay Christian S returns to the Munich-based power house in full eccentric fashion with a new 5-tracker. Titled "Tannin", the record deftly weaves between psycho and percussion driven house cuts, injected with a steady dose of quirky chords and vivid synth arrangements. With the tracks being composed during different productive phases, the package sees Christian link up with the Cómeme crew and features Matias Aguayo, Sano and Korkut Elbay.

Niv Ast - Generally Alone

Mexican label Duro is back with a new release by Etcha. The latter delivers a menacing, soundtrack-inspired piece of italo-iosh dancefloor drama on the lead track, which Bird of Paradise then turns into a fierce industrial rhythm-heavy workout.
"Operation Oskar Panizza" on the flip still retains some of that cinematic flavour, but is instead channelled through a dusty, left-field house soundscape. Marvin & Guy wrap up the package there, by taking this track into more familiar club territory, via insistent synth stabs, crunching drums frenetic arpeggios.

sounding deep, mysterious, sleazy, cosmic and alluring.
Zakmina starts the trip. Building on recent release on Nein and XXX, here he ploughs a thunder like bass chug that gradually builds in its intensity. It’s a perfect scene-setter for the sleazy funk that follows; Salto Honduras continues to make the conversion from DJ to producer with the dark and drum-heavy ‘Betonada’ while Pontias takes us to the edge of the universe on a rocket made of slo-mo techno with ‘Easter Eggs’. Slow, heavy and star- gazing sexy. Dig deeper for more smouldering grooves as Mike Sacchetti’s ‘Dead As Disco’ gets full- on psychedelic in an early 200's Ewan Pearson kind of way while Volta Cab brings this heady session to close with a series of fractured electroid beats, lavish sweeping pads and a grizzly analog bassline that anchors this track deep deep deep into the dance, the night and our psyches.
Something for everyone. It’s another superlative EP from the Ombra family…

PREMIERE : Zakmina - Not Everyone Can Enter

A classic track from the London catalogue which is not currently available on the DSPs. The original featured Gary Haisman on vocals and reached no.3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1989. A truly legendary and genre-defining track - it was originally banned by the BBC and is a key part of the legacy of UK dance music. It was also no 1 in 1989 on the Billboard Dance chart.

We have commissioned a new suite of remixes by modern electronic music pioneers - Mall Grab, Rebuke, Nathan Micay and Serge Santiago - who between them conjure up a bag of tricks containing dirty acid, some uplifting house, genre-splicing rave action and a killer underground drum workout.

PREMIERE #700 | SWIN - End Game [Late Night Drum Club] 2019

Release number 12 for the @OmbraInternational label features  a selection of newcomers from all corners of the globe. Including Lithuania's Zakmina, Volta Cab from Russia, Israeli Salto Honduras, Pontias from France and Spanish artist Mike Sachetti.

Luca Venezia's aka Curses imprint continues to go from strength to strength with trademark bass guitars  and musicality which defines both the artist and label. This is perfectly highlighted in ' Betonada' by @SaltoHonduras, the debuting artist is already a well known figure in the Berlin scene in his role at Renate, as a DJ and drummer for the likes of Moscoman and Curses live shows. From this showing soon to make a big splash in the world of production too.

Dig deeper for more smouldering grooves as Mike Sacchetti’s "Dead As Disco" gets full-on psychedelic in an early 2000s Ewan Pearson kind of way with hints of end of the 1980s New Order’s sonority. "I wanted to capture the essence of Dark Disco music and mix it with the influence of Psychedelic Rock. For me, it’s a very emotional, introspective and melancholic track, but that’s just how I feel about it", said Mike, whose contribution to this indispensable release ended up bringing an Indie Rock touch to the multi-genre compilation. that delivers something for everyone. It’s definitely another superlative EP from the Ombra family.

Exclusive Lauer ft. Jasnau 'You Know'

Always busy, you know? That's Philipp Lauer's life as an in-demand artist. Whether under his real last name 'Lauer', together with Gerd Janson as Tuff City Kids or with Fabrizio Mammarella under their Black Spuma moniker Philipp Lauer, or the 'Brontosaurus' from the Frankfurt 'Speckgürtel' (German for 'exurbs') probably has more successful projects than other labels have potential artists to release music from. However, regarding the aforementioned not as Permanent Vacation, run by Munich electronic music pioneers Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich, who supplies a shelter for Philipp's music as he released his 'Borndom LP' as well two and half EPs on the label, 'two and a half' only because the 'Borndom' album was provided with a remix EP. Any way, Lauer now returns with his third proper EP to the label and delivers four original tracks plus an instrumental of 'You Know' and an extended version of the EP's title track 'Know You'. For the inversion of the title track Lauer teams up with Jasnau for 'Know You', as he already did for several tracks that were released on Permanent Vacation or Running Back. Again the result of the collaboration is as outstanding as before, Lauer's inevitable (tuff) disco-ish sound tendency perfectly fits Jasnau's voice and complement each other. The result is a pop-esque track that could do the trick in many DJs' sets as it's a versatile dance floor filler adding a different tone and note to a (club)set.

Lauer's EP 'Know You' will be released on Permanent Vacation on December 6th, 2019.
