PURE ABSTRACTION ANTI ABSOLUTION

While I never intended to use my voice in music, I re-discovered a crate of Portuguese Fado records that I bought in Lisbon seven years ago, providing the impetus to create a collection of beats.

Evoking elements of my ambient tape loop past as well as a return to playing piano, 'The Lisbon Tape' is a collection of dusty loops and internal monologues that may bring to mind any of the following disparate references:

Fado, 2046, Arthur Jafa, Grouper, Loren Connors, Willy Basinski, Blue Poles, Ka, The Slim Reaper, Dean + Inga, Steve Prefontaine, Recent Earl, Terrence Malick, Attitude Era etc.
