Our divorce from nature, our failure to communicate is the fruit of an irritated spectrum to this world. Syntax and its rules is the mother of all rules
as it has been developed first by each of us. we talk in words, we think deeply in words, and small is the room left to higher forms of communication and reflection.
Language is the real matrix that shapes the depth of our reality, one thing is certainly in common; mortality.

Montreal’s Black Atlass is a voice you can't forget, charting new territory somewhere in-between modern R&B, experimental electronic production, and classic singer/songwriter confessionals.

His debut single "Paris" was praised by music obsessives ("soulful, electronic-tinged tracks that tug at the heartstrings" - Stereogum), and high-end fashionistas alike, earning praise in Vogue and scoring Louis Vuitton ads while garnering the personal attention of everyone from Woodkid (who enlisted Black Atlass to open dates on his European tour) to Dior Homme (who invited BA to their Paris Fashion Week presentations and styled him for the front row). 

Beyond these blog props and style bonafides, however, there's substance in his music that sets Black Atlass apart from his contemporaries. It pulses all throughout the new Young Bloods EP, six tracks that more than live up to their title with knotty chords, unexpectedly muscular beats, and the ethereal vocals that tie it all together. From “Blossom’s” handclap funk and the D'Angelo worthy boom bap of "Free Angel" to the primal howl of distorted closer "Jewels," Young Bloods is the latest chapter in the story of a raw and electrifying new talent.

Reagan makes a call to Syrian President Hafez al-Assad in February 1985 to try to pressure him to resolve the Lebanon crisis. The language is mostly stilted, but Reagan still manages to get in a couple digs in.
Reagan was riding his horse at his California ranch and kept Assad waiting over 13 minutes. But Assad’s translator doesn’t give the president the exact explanation that Reagan staffers offer — which is that the president was horseback-riding — and instead simply tells Assad that Reagan apologizes and was on a “farm.”

That was ironic, Doyle notes, since Syria was a one-party dictatorship and police state with rigged elections.
“Over the years, Assad frequently teased American leaders with the promise of progress with Syria on regional matters, but such progress rarely occurred,” he added.
